20/21 Self Assessment Deadline Looming!

It’s the last week of January and here at Forge we are working hard to get those 20/21 Self Assessments completed by the end of January.

You need to send your information to us this week and we’ll do everything to get your self assessment returns processed before the upcoming deadline.

At Forge we understand that pulling your self assessment information together can be stressful and confusing. We’re here to help. We’ll take care of all the analysis, summarising and submission work to ensure that your returns are done correctly and on time. We take away the hassle for you, leaving you the headspace to get on with those other jobs.

We will be as flexible as possible in helping you get your Self Assessment information to us.
You can send your information to us in the following ways:
• Send your information to us via the Post
• Sent your information to us electronically via email
• Upload information through our electronic portal
• Drop your information off in person through a prearranged meeting

Remember to include any self employed grants you received in 20/21 as these are classed as income and need including in your return.

Get in contact with us if you have any issues and we can discuss the best option to suit you.

The key thing is to get your information to us as quickly as possible to allow time for the return to be calculated and processed.

Hi all just to let you know I'll be chasing any unpaid Tax Return Refunds up today. As you're aware I was given today as the date that HMRC should have had all returns sorted but as I haven't heard anything yet this could now also mean they've been pushed back again.
I have seen some new letters that have gone out in the last couple of weeks asking for proof of identity so please keep your eyes open and check all post. If you can't get hold of me for next few days it's because I'll be on the phone to HMRC and will respond to you each personally as soon as I can.

Hi All,
It's that time of year again!!
Self-Assessment Tax Returns can be submitted to HMRC from Tuesday 6th April.
Please bear in mind this year that any Self Employed grants you received are classed as income and need to be included as part of your turnover for the year.
As always if you know anyone who needs some help then please copy them into the post comments.
We will aim to make sure all received returns are turned around within 10 days.

Hi all,

An update from Sheffield Council regarding grants for sole traders and small businesses with little to no property costs.

Grants for self-employed and small businesses
One-off payments of £1,000 are available to support self-employed and small businesses impacted by the 5th January national lockdown.

Grants are available for both businesses who have fixed costs of under £1,500 and those who have no fixed property costs but who have not received significant support from SEIS.

This scheme is designed to help self-employed or small businesses who are:

home based
have business related rental or mortgage costs of below £1500 per annum
pay for virtual office space
do not have rental or mortgage costs but pay a commission or pay a proportion of their takings to their landlord

Information can be found on Sheffield Council website on the coronavirus page under support for businesses

Hi All,

It has now been made public that HMRC have pushed back the deadline for submission and payment of Self Assessments for 2019/20 to the 28th February.

If your struggling then please bear this in mind and you can also ring HMRC if you need to set up a payment plan for your outstanding Tax and NI.

It's not set in stone but we believe that HMRC will use this latest submission when calculating the next Self Employed Income Support Payment ( we believe this will be communicated within the 3rd March Budget produced by the chancellor)

We really hope that Business will be back to normal for everyone soon but until it is we are here to support every step of the way.
