Today I visited an AgeUK wellbeing group to talk about decluttering and organising. I had such a lovely morning and really appreciated how comfortable everyone made me feel - especially as I’m not a natural public speaker.
We talked about how much easier daily life feels when you know what you have, where things live, and you’re not digging through cupboards or drawers that don’t work anymore. And that it's not about aiming for a perfect home, just one that’s clearer and easier to manage.
We also spoke about how helpful it can be to have someone booked in to support you. That bit of accountability, and knowing you’re not doing it alone, can make the whole process feel lighter and far less overwhelming.
And to top it off, I wasn’t allowed to leave without taking a punnet of home‑grown tomatoes, which absolutely made my day. I love organising… but if this is what retirement looks like, I can’t wait!
