We’re pleased to share an important milestone in our work with the public sector.

Nimble Approach has been awarded a place on the Crown Commercial Service (CCS) Technology Services 4 (TS4) framework, Lot 5A.

TS4 offers a clear and compliant route for public sector organisations to access support across application development, data and digital transformation, and technology consultancy - helping teams engage the right partners and move at pace.

At Nimble, our focus remains on shortening time to value, helping teams turn ideas into impact faster. Whether improving existing services or building new, user-centred digital products, we’re looking forward to continuing our work with departments and public bodies across the UK to deliver secure, reliable, and accessible services for the people who rely on them.

From 3D buildings to Victorian sweet shops, another round of AI Hackathons this week...

The challenge was simple: take an idea and build something with AI in just 90 minutes. No pressure, just a chance to learn, experiment and have a bit of fun.

Some of the things people came up with were genuinely impressive (and occasionally hilarious):

- A web app to explore and learning different stitch patterns 🪡
- Tools for automatically turning house floor plans into interactive 3D models
- Using AI to make up and display information about Victorian sweet companies in Pontefract 🤷
- A golf scoring tool with player and course information and tracking🏌️
- Test tooling to explore, capture and execute test cases against any website
- An app to guide technical users through writing better blog posts from an initial idea
- An agentic flow to augment high-level curated technical advice with project specific low-level context
- An app powered by multiple agents to provide recipes from an image of the inside of a fridge 🍴

It's been great to see what people from across our teams can achieve and demonstrate in just 90 minutes getting hands on with the tools powering our AI-Driven Development approach.

They’re light-hearted and a bit rough around the edges, but they offer a real glimpse into how AI might reshape the way we design, build and collaborate.

Thanks to everyone who joined us in Sheffield. Same again next month?

Thinking of running something like this with your team? Reach out.

We're all off to take pictures of our fridges...

With the EU Accessibility Act just weeks away, there’s never been a more important Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD).
At Nimble, we’ve been helping clients get ready for the upcoming changes, and recently, our own Chris Sherlock ran a fantastic internal session on what the new European Accessibility Act means in practice.

📢 It comes into force on 28th June 2025. Which is soon!

If you:
- Sell into the EU,
- Offer services like e-commerce, banking, e-books or software,
- Or simply want to create more inclusive digital experiences...
..then this is something you need to know about.

Key takeaways from our session:
1. What the Act is and why it matters
2. Who it affects (hint: it might be you)
3. What you can do today to avoid fines or losing market access
4. Simple first steps like audits, accessibility statements, and tooling

The Act is based on WCAG 2.1 AA (soon to be 2.2), and non-compliance could mean not just fines, but also reputational damage or withdrawal from the EU market.

We’ve helped clients get started and would be happy to help you too. Whether that’s with an audit, staff training, or understanding what’s expected.

📩 Reach out if you’d like to learn more or chat about how to get ready.

Why do so many digital services miss the mark? It’s rarely due to a lack of skill or intent, it’s more often because they're built on assumptions that turned out to be wrong or unproven.

One of the smartest things you can do early in a project is identify your risky assumptions - the ones that could sink the service if they’re off.

Take this one:
“We believe that clearly presenting eligibility criteria on the homepage will help users understand whether they qualify for the service”

If that’s wrong, you might spend months designing journeys people never start.

Here are 3 ways to surface those risks:

1. Write them down.
Writing down risky assumptions makes them visible, creates alignment (ensuring the whole team has a shared understanding), and helps us prioritise which ones to validate first.

2. Map them to the service.
Spot where the risk sits across the service journey and focus research where it matters.

3. Turn them into hypotheses.
Test early, fast, and with minimal cost. A quick sketch or conversation could save a sprint (or six).

In our work with organisations like the Department for Education, this approach has helped reduce waste, speed up learning, and deliver better services.

Thanks Amanda King for sharing the insight. Read the full post: https://nimbleapproach.com/blog/understanding-risky-assumptions/

We’re proud to support Kidney Research UK this July in honour of one of our dedicated team members and their family.

This time, we’re taking our support a step further—literally—with Nimble-sponsored charity walks across the UK, ensuring every part of our team can get involved in raising money for this amazing cause.

Kidney Research UK is committed to funding life-changing research to combat kidney disease, aiming to reduce the impact of kidney disease on lives by:
- Funding ground-breaking research for new treatments
- Improving patient care and raising awareness
- Supporting patients and families through education and advocacy

📍 We’re lacing up our boots for charity walks across the UK this September:
- Nimble Leeds to Sheffield Office (33.2 miles)
- Nimble Bristol to Wells (19 miles)
- Nimble Manchester will really need their hiking boots for the Rivington Pike Loop (20.2 miles)

To give our teams ample time to train, these walks will take place throughout September, aiming to raise both awareness and vital funds for Kidney Research UK. 🥾
