Well things are still happening, Santorini is still having earthquakes but at a reduced level. Campi Flegrei (Naples) is increasingly producing more volcanic gas emissions, Kilauea (Hawaii) is currently erupting with lava heading towards populated areas and Mount Spur (Alaska) is stirring. Pick your area and look for the relevant youtube video if you want to follow more closely. Please take care though as you explore check when the videos were uploaded.

Meanwhile back in the office we're finalising plans for this years field trips, more soon.

Things really are warming up in the Eastern Mediterranean , another 2 volcanos are stiring. Etna is currently erupting and another 1 in Italy is stiring as well.

It's better for you to hear the original, far better than my version!

I've been off exploring again. Upto the North West Highlands of Scotland and been back to some frequently visited sites and some new ones.

There's a couple of interesting features shown, firstly a location showing the Torridonian Sandstone Unconformity with the underlying Lewisian Gneiss. And on Ceannabeinne Beach Boudinage in the Scourie D***s themselves in the Lewisian basement.

Ages of the rocks in the Multi coloured rock stop compared to a 24 hr clock are; 6am for the grey gneiss, midday for the Scourie D***s, 15.00 for the pink pegmatite and man arrived on the scene at minutes to midnight!
