Today is exactly 1 year since I took a HUGE leap of faith and set up my own business! Little old me, a business owner, eek! ....... something I talked about for years and aspired to do but was never brave enough to take the plunge.

Not going to lie, it has certainly been a rollercoaster ride but I am still hanging in there through all the twists and turns, highs and lows and enjoying the freedom, flexibility and exhilarating ride that it is taking me on. I have learnt so much about running a business but also about myself - you can do anything you set your mind to especially with the support of fabulous family, friends and even complete strangers.

Everyone I have met has been amazing, I whole-heartedly thank anyone who has supported me on the journey so far, all the zoom calls, coffee chats, networking, 101 questions answered.... the kindness, referrals, moral support, top tips, opportunities. There are too many people to mention here, you all know who you are, thank you! I couldn't do it without you.

For anyone starting out, go for it, believe in yourself, take a risk, surround yourself with positive people and don't be afraid to ask for help along the way.

Here's hoping there are many more years celebrating Spark People Solutions Ltd!

Today in On Your Feet Britain day.

I haven't always been very good at moving during the day as I was office based and totally focussed on getting through my emails or finishing a project in time, however over the last year I made sure a daily walk was built into my diary and I can 100% feel the benefits. I am definitely more focussed and energised afterwards.

Today at Spark People Solutions Ltd we are taking calls standing up and doubling the length of our daily walk.

International Moment of Laughter Day

Life is full of hard choices and difficult times, never more so than recently. When I am struggling I try to remember the happier times and how laughing is a great tonic……. not just a giggle but a proper belly laugh, a bend over in stitches laugh, laughing so hard I have tears rolling down my face. Scientists have proven that laughter is linked with increased endorphins in the brain, which improves our overall mood.

International Moment of Laughter day is the day to take some time to laugh on purpose. Watch funny videos or tell jokes with your friends, do whatever it takes to get you and your loved ones laughing.

Singing helps me too, not to laugh (others might!?) but definitely makes me smile.
