One of my favourite times of the week are my regular Ops meetings with some of my long-standing clients.

A time where we look at what's coming up in the business in the following days/weeks/months, discuss what's not going well and celebrate the wins, evaluate workload and look at priorities and capacity in a calm, logical and practical manner.

How many times have you got to the end of the day and wondered what you've actually achieved? I bet you started with good intentions but then...

Then the emails started coming in.
The phone rang.
A client needed something urgently.
The summer holidays arrived and your "mini bosses" have no time whatsoever for your actual workload (that by the way, doesn't just stop because the schools have broken up!)

Low and behold, before you knew it, the day had just disappeared, yet again.

Over time, it's so easy to become the person who does everything. Every enquiry, every email, every invoice, every diary change, every piece of paperwork. It works... until you fall over...

I'm recruiting on behalf of a well-established local carpentry company that is looking to expand its team with a skilled and reliable self-employed carpenter.

Working across Mid Devon and Somerset, you'll be involved in a variety of projects, so no two days are the same.

The ideal candidate will:

✔ Be a qualified and experienced carpenter
✔ Have experience in both internal and external carpentry
✔ Be self-motivated and able to work independently

Evening Gang!

I recently had a lovely review from a client, I didn't do anything groundbreaking, it wasn't hours of work, it wasn't a multi-hour per week retainer - it was a quick job that came about as a result of a chance conversation that has resulted in a happy customer, and a happy Laura too!

It is really nice to be able to create a quick fix for someone who has an awful lot on their plate trying to grow their business whilst travelling around the world.

The point of my post isn't (only) to brag about my lovely review 😉 but also to show that I happily help out with one-off smaller projects as well as on-going operational support.
