Well done to Nika Derakhshan yesterday, as she passed her driving test First Time at Worthing. Only one minor too.

It was a busy time with mad school parents on the loose, and she even got safely around an awkward two car incident on a roundabout too!

Glorious sunshine, glorious driving... That was enough.

I'm glad to have helped you. So enjoy the new Licence coming your way.
. . And, maybe the Landrover can wait awhile!

Midday test today at Worthing with had dubious weather before, which then turned into glorious sunshine for Anouk Parker-Tregoat, as she expertly showed off her driving skills and awareness . . . and passed First Time with only a few minors.

I'm glad to have helped you and we've both fine tuned your skills, so that safety is paramount.

Now you have your own brand new shiny pink/blue FULL Licence coming your way- Use it wisely, and enjoy.

Yup

AMBER DOES NOT MEAN ACCELERATE 🚦

Honestly… the amount of drivers who treat an amber traffic light like the start of a Formula 1 race is unreal.

The Highway Code is actually pretty clear on this.

Amber means STOP.

The only exception is if stopping suddenly would cause danger to yourself or somebody behind you.

Yet every day I see drivers speeding up the second green changes to amber because they “might make it”.

That gamble is exactly why so many junction crashes happen.

What makes this worse is newer drivers often copy experienced drivers. If Mum, Dad or Uncle Dave blasts through every amber light, learners start believing that’s normal driving.

It isn’t.

Good driving isn’t about beating the lights.
Good driving is about planning early, reading the road ahead and staying in control.

And before somebody says:
“But everyone does it…”

Loads of people also leave indicators on for 3 miles and sit in the middle lane at 67mph. Doesn’t make it right 😂

Next time you see amber, ask yourself:
“Can I stop safely?”

If the answer is yes… stop.

Simple.
