The Major General’s Inspection is a critical assessment of soldiers and horses that marks the moment the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment is declared fit to participate in ceremonial duties for the year ahead. It is one of the most significant dates in the regiment’s calendar and is seen as a make-or-break occasion.

Congratulations to Sgt Will Rigby on being awarded the Pooley Sword of Honour at .
As the senior cadet in our Royal Marine Section, Will has been voted this year’s Senior NCO in recognition of the qualities that best represent our values of leadership, resilience, integrity and humility.

Yesterday we joined Australians and New Zealanders around the world to commemorate . ❤️

We remember not only the Australian & New Zealand Army Corps (ANZAC) soldiers who died on 25 April 1915 and throughout the Gallipoli campaign, but every one of our service personnel who have served and died in all wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping operations.

This year marks the anniversary of a number of significant battles and conflicts including the 110th anniversary of the commencement of WWI, the 85th anniversary of the commencement of WWII and the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings at Normandy, France.

Today we reflect on the contributions and sacrifices made by past and present service personnel in choosing a life of service to their nation.

Lest We Forget.

Wonderful photographs from at The Sovereigns Parade on Friday.

It was a historic day at where Officer Cadets were commissioned as Army officers and inspected by the UK’s highest-ranking female officer, General Dame Sharon Nesmith, at the Sovereign’s Parade. Huge congratulations to all, especially Cadet Adamtay from Ghana who was presented with the sword honour, proudly hand crafted as always by Pooley Sword.

At the Duke of York’s Royal Military School, the annual Drill Competition, a proud tradition since 1918, once again brought together students from Years 8–13 in a powerful display of discipline, teamwork, and precision.

This year, Wellington House excelled, securing Best at Drill and the honour of leading the Guard of Honour on Grand Day Parade, a true mark of excellence and trust.

A standout moment saw Imogen awarded the Baroness Thatcher’s Sword of Honour for the most outstanding Junior Under Officer, crafted by Pooley Sword in the presence of her father, making the occasion all the more meaningful.

We are incredibly proud to see this piece presented in such a historic setting, recognising leadership, commitment, and achievement at the highest level.

Congratulations to all involved and especially to Wellington House on a remarkable performance

A specially commissioned Pooley Sword was created for The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo ahead of their recent tour to Auckland, New Zealand.

At Eden Park, the Tattoo was formally welcomed by Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei with a pōwhiri, a traditional welcome ceremony performed by tangata whenua (hosts) for manuhiri (visitors).

During the ceremony, Alan Lane presented the sword on behalf of the Tattoo as a koha (a gift in response to the pōwhiri). The welcome concluded with a hongi, marking the exchange between hosts and visitors.

This ceremony formed part of the opening of the Show at Eden Park and was developed through collaboration between Ngāti Whātua Ōrākei and the Tattoo.

Proud of our long-standing relationship with the The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo team, and looking ahead to August.
