You know the one. The phone’s been a bit quiet, the bills aren’t going to pay themselves, so you think…

“Go on then, it’ll be an easy few quid.”

FAMOUS. LAST. FLUFFING. WORDS. 🤦‍♂️🤣

Fast forward a few hours and the damage is done, the customer’s kicking off, and you’ve got someone standing over your shoulder watching your every move.

Every decision is questioned. Every breath is judged. You’re sweating in places you didn’t know you could sweat, and that little job has officially become the reason you’re considering a career change. 😂

And the worst part?

YOU CAN’T EVEN LEAVE IT LIKE THAT. 😭

But before you start ripping everything out, ordering replacements or rescheduling work to get this one finished…

I contacted Damage Assist to repair a small chip in my bath.

Lovely fella. Polite. Professional. Had all his tools.

LOOKED LIKE A MAN WHO KNEW WHAT HE WAS DOING. THAT WAS MY FIRST MISTAKE. 🚩

Two hours later, my bath looked brand new. Then he repaired a damaged door, sorted scratched UPVC and made a chip in the worktop disappear.

I’ve spent YEARS ignoring things until they become someone else’s problem, and this bloke has ruined everything!

Now the missus is pointing at every mark in the house, and I can’t even justify a new bathroom.

MY MARRIAGE IS UNDER INVESTIGATION. HE SAID HE CANT FIX MARRIAGES 🤣

Who needs a mixer tap when you’ve got commitment issues with temperature? 😂🥶

I’m ready for pumpkin spice lattes, Christmas markets and cosy dark evenings… but I’d also quite like a BBQ, a few cocktails, a cheeky bit of sunbathing and those late-night sunsets where you lose track of time and suddenly it’s 9:30pm and you’re still outside pretending you’re in Ibiza. ☀️🍹😂

🎉 6 YEARS OF DAMAGE ASSIST. WHAT THE ACTUAL F 😂

Six years ago, Damage Assist was basically a pandemic fuelled idea, a van and absolutely no idea what I was doing when it came to running a business.

Fast forward six years and somehow we’ve got multiple vans, a team, a building and a frightening amount of responsibility. 😂

Looking back, I genuinely don’t know whether to be proud of myself or have a word with myself.

But seriously…

THANK YOU.

To every single person who has recommended us, shared a post, tagged us, commented, liked something, sent our name to a mate, told a builder about us or randomly shouted “you need Damage Assist” at someone with a broken bath…

You’ve helped build this business more than you probably realise.

And then there’s James.

The bloke who has somehow managed to keep me somewhat on the straight and narrow for the last few years. 😂

He’s helped me grow this business into what it is today, been the voice of reason when I’ve had one of my “brilliant” ideas, told me when I’m being an idiot and, most importantly, kept me in my lane when I’ve started drifting into the next postcode. 😂

I genuinely couldn’t have asked for a better person beside me through this journey.

And to every other business owner who has supported me, guided me, shared knowledge, given advice or pointed me in the right direction, thank you.

I’ve learnt more in six years than I could ever have imagined, mostly by making mistakes, occasionally by listening and quite often by making the same mistake twice just to make absolutely sure. 🤦‍♂️😂

From one £1,500 van and a mad idea…

To where we are now.

Six years of graft, stress, laughs, late nights, early mornings, ridiculous jobs and plenty of “what the hell are we doing?” moments.

Still independent.
Still family-run.
Still obsessed with doing a bloody good job.
Still fixing s**z other people said couldn’t be fixed.

And somehow, still here. ❤️

Absolutely fake… a complete imitation. 😂

When I say fake, I mean it’s not the missing bit simply glued back on, or created by some dodgy AI wizardry. 🤣

The missing section of the tile has been completely rebuilt, using colour-matched materials, then decorated and blended back into the original.

Basically… fake, but annoyingly good at pretending to be real. 😂
