Tuesday Top Tip - Know your numbers

It's easy to look at the bank account and think "We're okay."

But your bank balance only tells you what you have today.

Good financial management means looking at your income, expenditure, cash flow and budget so you can see what be coming next.

As a manager or trustee, you don't need to be an accountant.

But you DO need to understand what the numbers are telling you.

💡 Are you spending more than you planned?
💡 Is your income changing?
💡 Are there months ahead when cash flow could be tight?
💡 Can you afford the things you're planning?

Don't wait until money becomes a problem before you start looking at it.

Know your numbers. Understand your numbers. Use them to make decisions.
