ENOUGH IS ENOUGH — BRING BACK RED DIESEL FOR BRITISH BUSINESSES! 🚨
🇬🇧 A MESSAGE TO THE UK GOVERNMENT, PARLIAMENT AND EVERY LOCAL MP!
In America, Donald Trump has taken action to offer temporary diesel-tax relief to businesses struggling with fuel costs.
SO WHY ARE BRITISH BUSINESSES STILL BEING FORCED TO PAY FULL-DUTY WHITE DIESEL PRICES TO OPERATE ESSENTIAL OFF-ROAD PLANT AND MACHINERY?
Since the red diesel rule changes in April 2022, businesses across the UK have been hit with substantially higher fuel costs.
We are talking about hardworking British companies in:
🚛 Haulage and transport
♻️ Waste management and recycling
🚜 Plant hire and machinery operations
🏗️ Construction and groundwork
🚧 Quarrying, aggregates and earthmoving
🏭 Industrial and commercial site operations
These are businesses that keep Britain moving, clear our waste, recycle our materials, build our infrastructure and provide thousands of jobs.
WE ARE NOT ASKING FOR A HANDOUT. WE ARE ASKING FOR A FAIR DEAL!
Why should a business operating an excavator, loading shovel, crusher, screener, dumper or other machinery entirely off the public highway have to pay full road-fuel duty?
These machines are working on private sites, recycling yards, construction projects and industrial premises — not travelling up and down the public highway.
Yet companies are expected to absorb enormous fuel bills while also dealing with rising wages, insurance, maintenance, equipment and operating costs.
HOW MUCH MORE ARE BRITISH BUSINESSES EXPECTED TO TAKE?
Enough talking. It’s time for this issue to be taken seriously.
📢 I AM CALLING FOR A NATIONAL PETITION TO THE UK GOVERNMENT AND PARLIAMENT DEMANDING:
1. The restoration of red diesel entitlement for qualifying off-road plant and machinery used in waste management, recycling, construction, quarrying and other essential industries.
2. A fair review of fuel duty for vehicles and machinery operating exclusively on private land and off public highways.
3. Recognition of the financial pressure these restrictions place on small and medium-sized British businesses.
4. Direct engagement between the Treasury, local MPs, industry representatives and the companies affected.
5. Urgent consideration of temporary fuel-duty relief while a long-term solution is reviewed.
OUR MESSAGE IS SIMPLE:
STOP MAKING IT HARDER AND MORE EXPENSIVE FOR BRITISH COMPANIES TO OPERATE.
STOP IGNORING THE BUSINESSES THAT KEEP THIS COUNTRY RUNNING.
GIVE OUR INDUSTRIES A FAIR OPPORTUNITY TO SURVIVE, INVEST, EMPLOY PEOPLE AND GROW.
We need waste companies, haulage operators, plant-hire businesses, construction firms, recycling companies and every affected business to have their say.
LET’S GET A PETITION TOGETHER AND MAKE SURE THIS ISSUE IS PUT BEFORE MPs AND PARLIAMENT.
If your business has been affected by the removal of red diesel entitlement, share your experience and explain what these extra costs have meant for you.
Let’s show just how many British companies are affected.
🇬🇧 BRITISH BUSINESSES DESERVE TO BE HEARD!
