⚽📺 6am start this morning in York getting Museum Street Tavern ready for the first World Cup fixtures.
A big thank you to Tom for meeting me bright and early to gain access before opening so we could get everything completed and ready for kick-off.
The challenge was to distribute live TV to multiple screens around the venue using the building’s existing Cat5 network cabling, avoiding the disruption and cost of running new cables throughout the pub.
Using a TV over Ethernet distribution system, we delivered reliable HD TV to multiple screens while also providing hardwired network connectivity to the TVs for streaming services and smart TV functionality.
This means the venue now benefits from both reliable live TV distribution and stable wired internet connections to the screens, reducing reliance on Wi-Fi and helping ensure a smooth viewing experience when it matters most.
One of the best parts of the job is working in some fantastic locations, and it doesn’t get much better than carrying out an installation with York Minster right outside the front door.
A lot of people assume poor viewing is always a Wi-Fi issue, but we regularly find aerial faults, satellite issues, network bottlenecks and outdated TV distribution systems causing problems too.
Whether it’s a pub, club, restaurant, hotel, garden room, home bar or commercial venue, TV over Ethernet can often utilise existing network cabling to distribute both live TV and network connectivity where it’s needed.
Good luck to everyone enjoying the World Cup over the coming weeks ⚽🍻
