The key to succeeding in your CIPD

The CIPD qualification is meant to be a useful and insightful experience. It should help you expand your HR knowledge and develop practical skills like critical thinking, problem solving or researching.

Unfortunately, for many students, it can start to feel overwhelming and stressful instead.

Especially when:
You are balancing your studies alongside work and family
You are unfamiliar with academic writing
Assignment briefs feel confusing
Referencing feels unclear
You do not feel fully supported by your provider

Instead of feeling like a valuable learning journey, it can start to feel like an obstacle you just want to get through.

This is where structured, ongoing support alongside your studies can make a huge difference.

That’s where The CIPD Success Programme comes in ✨
This is an 18-month programme designed to give you structured support all throughout your studies, helping you feel less stressed and more confident about passing!

As a member, you’ll get access to:
🎥 Step-by-step guides for all Level 5 CO and HR modules
📚 Module case study guides, showing you how to tailor your assignment answers to suit the organisation you’re given
💡 Regular video content on practical assignment tips from referencing, to research to time management
🤝 Regular members-only live support sessions
👥 Private Members-only community

Why CIPD Students actually get referred
Read this post to learn about common reasons why students get referred and how to avoid these mistakes.

⚖️ Not using your word count wisely
Some students use up all their words on one answer then leave others underdeveloped. Don’t do this! Make sure you spread your word count evenly across each answer.

📚 Not using enough references
You need to use at least 2 references per answer. If you’re struggling to find references for your points, take a look at my previous post where I’ve shared reliable sources you can use.

📝 Not going into enough depth
Simply listing points is not enough depth. Your answers should be detailed, well-explained, supported by references, and include examples.

❓Not answering all parts of the question
Some questions will have 2-4 parts to it - many students answer half then forget to cover the remaining parts! Read the question carefully and be sure to cover every element.

🌟 If you want more detailed advice on how to avoid common mistakes, I have a FREE Video Guide available on my website for you to watch!
👉 I’ve shared the link to my Free Video Guide in the comments!

💌 Good luck to everyone with your CIPD journey, and if you have any questions or want to know the best way I can support you, my messages are always open!

Why Students Actually Abandon Their CIPD...

Over the years, I have seen many students reach a point where they feel overwhelmed and question if they can actually keep going with their studies.

It happens because they’re trying to balance a demanding qualification alongside work, family commitments and everyday life, while also adjusting to academic writing, assignment briefs, Harvard referencing and researching.

For many students, these struggles come from receiving a lack of actual support throughout the qualification. You might get some help from your provider at certain points, but when a course takes months or even over a year to complete, one-off support isn’t always enough.

🙋‍♀️ As someone who's passionate about supporting CIPD students and HR professionals, I wanted to create something that gives you more reliable, accessible and consistent support throughout your studies.

Something that helps you feel less alone and more confident while working through a qualification that's meant to be a valuable learning experience.

✨ That’s how The CIPD Success Programme was born! ✨

This will be an 18-month support programme for CIPD Level 5 students, giving you access to practical tools, resources, live support sessions, community support and more to help you feel fully supported throughout your qualification.

I’m so excited to build this with students who need that extra bit of support and help people succeed in achieving their qualification. I genuinely believe this is our best-ever support programme!

👉 Comment "CIPD" if you're interested in the early details!

I will be posting more information very soon, so stay tuned. 💛

Who's feeling unsupported with their CIPD studies?
I noticed something that many CIPD students experience, but don’t always say out loud: Once the course starts, the support can feel much more limited than you expected.

You’ll receive some learning materials and maybe a bit of feedback from your tutor.

But then you’re left having to figure out:
📚 What the question is really asking for
✍️ How to structure your answer
🔎 What theory to include
📌 How to properly apply the case study
📖 How to Harvard reference correctly
⏰ How to balance studies with work and life

Which can get very overwhelming for many students.

If you feel like you’re struggling, it absolutely does not mean that you’re not capable of completing the qualification. You just need the right support that actually helps you through such a demanding course.

👉 Ongoing, consistent support with academic writing, understanding assignment briefs and structuring your answers can make a huge difference to your studies.

✨ That’s why I’ve been working on something new for CIPD Level 5 students 👀

A programme to give you more consistent support that’s accessible throughout your whole qualification from start to finish, not just when you reach panic mode.

💌 More details coming soon! But if this sounds like the support you want, comment “CIPD” or message me and I’ll send you the early details

CIPD Academic Writing Tips! 💡
for those of you who are unfamiliar with academic writing, here are some useful tips to know for your assignmnet:

Understand and answer the Command Verb 🤔
Different command verbs require different levels of detail. Make sure you understand what the question is really asking for. There is a difference between "evaluate", "explain" and "analyse"!

Maintain an Academic Tone 👩‍🏫
Your writing should be formal, clear and objective. Try to avoid contractions, slang or vague wording. For example, instead of writing “stuff,” explain exactly what you mean and what's included.

Use Harvard Referencing 📚
When using theories, models, research or other sources, you must cite them correctly using Harvard referencing.
I’ve created a comprehensive Harvard referencing guide, which I’ve linked in the comments!

Manage your Word Count 📝
Plan your answer before you start writing so you know roughly how much space to give each section.
Aim to include enough detail while still keeping your writing clear and concise.

💬 Share any other tips you have in the comments!

💌 If you have any questions of want some support with your assignmnent, feel free to send me a message.

Who's still working on their CIPD over the summer? ☀️

This time of year can be especially tricky for staying motivated with your CIPThis time of year can be especially tricky for staying motivated with your CIP studies.

Between summer plans, family commitments, and everything else happening, it's normal if your motivation feels a bit lower than usual.

I wanted to share some advice that helped me - for anyone who needs a little push with their studies:

🎯 Remind yourself of the bigger goal
It's easy to feel burned out after months of working on your assignment. Try to reconnect with why you started this journey in the first place! Whether it was to expand your knowledge or boost your career, always remind yourself of the bigger goal.

🧩 Break your assignment down into manageable chunks
Instead of rushing to do as much as possible all at once, break your work down into smaller weekly goals.

🎉 Celebrating successes
It’s not just about celebrating your final pass - acknowledge the small wins too! Reward yourself along the journey, whether that’s treating yourself to something small or doing something that makes you happy.

🤝 Finding support
Having a study group and working alongside others can really help you feel more motivated. If you ever need someone reliable to speak to, our 1-to-1 CIPD support calls are always available! (Link in the comments)

Remember: always be kind to yourself and focus on what you’ve achieved instead of dwelling on what you haven’t done! 💛

💬 Let me know in the comments your plans for the summer and share any study tips! my messages are always open too, if you have any questions.
