When Debi joined the Retail Ready Skills Bootcamp, she came in hoping for new ideas, a clearer strategy, a way forward…of course she got that 😎

Like many founders in a crowded market, Debbie couldn’t see past just being a ‘stationary brand, selling cards.’

They stopped feeling like cold emails - because she finally knew what she was actually saying.

The best product businesses here don’t just display what they sell. They create a world around it.

Here’s what separates the ones that stop you in your tracks:

🌼 They blend their product seamlessly into the planting. At its heart this is a horticulture show, the brands that remember that always shine.

🌼 They tell a story through the display. Not just what the product is, but why it exists and who it’s for.

🌼 They design for flow and feeling. Playful, thematic, immersive, you move through it, not just past it.

How to behave
Even where to p*e, and very much, not to p*e!

As you can tell by my pictures, once I started seeing them, I couldn’t quite unsee them! 🤪

There was clarity, consistency. Expectations were set and obvious. Behaviour is guided, and if you ignore them? Signs = Fines!

Got me thinking,

What if we took a leaf out of their book? Clearly set expectations? Instead of throwing money at problems, adding more complexity, more ‘initiatives’ 🙄

For starters. Let’s bring it back to retail. Where on our high streets / in retail would signage make the biggest difference?
