Today is World Mental Health Day — a reminder that protecting mental health at work is essential to a safe and productive environment.
From 2023 to 2024, around half of all self-reported work-related ill health cases in Great Britain were linked to stress, depression or anxiety (HSE).
Work-related stress affects people, performance and retention — but it can be prevented.
This year, take practical steps to support your team:

✔️ Improve communication and feedback
✔️ Use HSE’s Talking Toolkit to start conversations
✔️ Complete a stress risk assessment
✔️ Encourage managers to take HSE’s free training module
