Is email marketing part of your business strategy for 2022? πŸ“§

Here's why YOU ABSOLUTELY SHOULD take advantage of the contacts you own!

βœ… Emails are personal
Take advantage of the personalisation that emails offer and connect with your audience through 1 on 1 approach.
("Hey Buddy" is not the answer)

βœ… Email marketing is one of the most cost-effective (FREE) ways to talk to your subscribers. ROI stands at Β£42 for every Β£1 spent according to DMA. Winner!

βœ… You OWN your contact list.
You're in charge on how you connect with your contacts. You don't own your social media followers - their companies do and they make the rules.

This is just a friendly reminder of the social media outage that happened in October '21. When social media goes down and you're business is up the creek and can't communicate...

βœ… Faster word of mouth
Your existing customers are more likely to forward your newsletter, newest offer to their contacts than any other channel. They create the buzz for you.

βœ… Emails are still going strong
Despite all the social media platforms or a new advertising technique on the block, emails have been going for a very long time now and they're not going anywhere.
We check emails daily. We want emails directed to US only

How many social media platforms are you set up on?

Other question is....

Are you ACTUALLY making the most of that platform?

If you're on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, chances are you spending way too much time trying to adjust pictures, characters, tag different people, adjust wording and not actually engaging where your IDEAL CLIENT is.

When I first started my business, I did EXACTLY the same.

I was firing blanks.
Tried to come up with different content for different platform and never got ANYTHING back.

What's different now?
I am learning every single day that a fewer options are better. I have more time to engage with others, I chose platform that I actually enjoy and I don't force myself to come up with content if it doesn't feel natural.

I'd like to know where are you mainly hanging out... Are you solely focusing on 1 platform? Or are you using every single avenue? What is it that works for you?

Let me know! πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡πŸ‘‡

Oh hey! It's been a while since I've introduced myself. πŸ€“

I have gained quite a few new followers recently and apart from pretty squares I wanted to show my face and tell you what I do and how I help clients.

I live and breath simplicity. I don't like complicated. My brain stops computing.

As part of my virtual assistant services, I work with clients to get rid of that noise that comes with running their business and provide simple solutions to streamline their processes, automate where possible and provide feedback (if asked πŸ˜‡)

I have been very lucky to work with very organised individuals, that know EXACTLY what is holding them back and why can't they move forward.

Typically, their To Do lists are growing by a minute but there's no one there to execute and complete them.

πŸ‘‰ Don't have time to mess about in Canva
πŸ‘‰ Don't have time to generate regular email newsletters
πŸ‘‰ Don't have time to create SM posts
πŸ‘‰ Don't have time to do the research and be more strategic about their business
πŸ‘‰ Can't promise a clear deadline because their schedule is all over the place.

That's where I come in! (hello there 😏)

🀩 I want them to move forward with their business.
🀩 Let them turn those ideas into reality be
🀩 Be creative again without feeling overwhelmed.

Over to you! Are you on the right path? Doing what you ought to be doing?

Show me one person that thrives on chaos.

I certainly don't.

I thrive on predictability, through planning and vision.

In the past, I used to be a control freak that could not deviate from a set plan but since having a child I had to give in a realise that not everything goes according to plan.

Same goes for running a business.

It can be overwhelming and chaotic at times but having a strategy and plan definitely keeps you focused and somewhat predictable.

I know that I keep on about processes and templates and maps and visual boards but hey, those things MASSIVELY help if you want to minimise those unpleasant surprises in your life.

Please tell me I'm not the only one who enjoys a routine and a plan!

3 ways to communicate using TrelloπŸ‘Œ

Imagine the scene.

You have an urgent task that needs doing.

You have emailed and commented on a card in Trello but there's no response.

How else are you supposed to escalate the urgency?

Personally, I'm falling more and more in love with Trello and the features it has to offer.

Why?
Trello is a user friendly and intuitive task workflow platform
It can be integrated with your email, cloud storage or calendar
It's free up to 10 boards

So how can you communicate with it effectively?

Slack - is a free instant messaging tool that can be integrated with Trello. Communicate with you team/clients, directly from Trello, from a specific card, and action straight from Slack.

Trello Butler - is an automation function within Trello where you can set rules for different behaviours of a card. I.e. set a rule ' card label is changed to red 'urgent' which will automatically send an personalized email to the card owner to action'.

Trello Chat - this Power-up feature is amazing! You can have conversation WITHIN the board. Not just in the card. So this could be non task related, but team/project related.

This is to give you a taste of what is Trello good for....the opportunities are endless.

If you'd like to explore these options, drop me a comment or a DM and I'm happy to explain more!

Happy Wednesday!

Hands up if you overcomplicate things without realising?

Yep, me too.

Including the most crucial bit.

COMMUNICATION CHANNELS!

Whatsapp
Trello
Slack
Email
Facebook Messenger
the list goes on

Whichever route you decide to go down with your clients and teams- make it clear from the start

Contract chat - email/CRM
'I want to cry' chat- Whatsapp
'Do it now!' chat - Trello (or other Task Management tools)

Don't deviate from your agreement.

It's crucial to agree the comms channels from the off and stick to them.

Messages will get unnoticed or lost.

My focus this week is to show you examples on how you can effectively communicate with your teams and clients.

So, if you're stuck and need to untangle this situation, let me know. I'm here to help and offer solutions!

~ Beautiful client testimonial ~

And just like that, my week is ended on a high with the loveliest of testimonials from a client.

It's strange to call a client. As strange as calling the work I do 'work'.

I am lucky enough to work alongside Emma and her baby Female-led small biz support] and see them grow together.

I'm not even going to brag about my amazingness. 😁

Emma's has created a community where every female and their business is celebrated and promoted in a unique way. Women Who Do gives opportunity to anyone who is proud of themselves and proud of their achievements in life and business.

If you don't already, go and follow Female-led small biz support] and get involved!

How do you measure your client's success?

Amongst your other business KPIs, how does one measure their clients's achievements?

Sometimes they are intengibable.

Sometimes the best measure is how you make them FEEL.

As an example for SOME of my clients.

Client 1 is putting a business plan together for Business No 3, because they have the energy and drive to convert an idea into a reality. I fuel that fire and push them forward. On top of that, they regularly have weekends off. πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§

Client 2 has just won a 7 figure contract thanks to them not having to be stuck behind a computer and going out to meet their clients more. Also bought a new holiday home to spend weekends away with a family. 🏑🏑🏑

Client 3 and I has hired 3 FT staff due to customer demand....their promise to customers is now a 48 guaranteed turnaround instead of an unknown delivery date. πŸ‘

Those are just snippets of what I see as successes when working with clients.

Do your see your clients flourishing when working with you?

How do you measure that?
Let me know!

Do you remember the time when you you got frustrated with your ex-employer for taking their sweet time throughout the hiring process?

πŸ–‡οΈ All that paperwork

😢 The long silence

πŸ“§ The back and forth emails to confirm and reconfirm start dates?

So tedious, right?

What is your onboarding process like?

Have you taken any of the points πŸ‘†πŸ‘†πŸ‘† onboard? (pardon the pun)

How long does your process take?
Is there a room for improvement?

One thing is for sure:

IT'S ALL ABOUT YOUR CLIENT!

Make sure that whatever your set up is:
- lovely set of automated emails
- good looking welcome pack
- video introduction with tutorials

Rememeber,

Onboarding gives your client a taste of what it's like to work with you.

Make it count!

What does flexibility mean to you?

More importantly what does it look like? πŸ‘€

🍷 Is it that impromptu lunch with friends?
πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ Is it the morning run before a meeting?
πŸ’€ Is it getting out of bed when you feel like it?

I know that running a business can be overwhelming at times but ultimately we have the FREEDOM to choose how we structure our day.

The word 'flexible' comes in all shapes and sizes depending on our priorities and goals.

My priority is my son's happiness and my wellbeing. πŸ’« I've combined the two and decided to go for a bike ride at 10am which couldn't happen in a 9-5 job.

πŸ’₯ Are you getting the most out of running your business? Or are you stuck to a chair, restricting yourself from living the best life as an entrepreneur?

How often do you ask for something?

Ask for help...
Ask for advice...
Ask for opinion...

I've only recently changed the way I feel about reaching out to others to help me figure out how to do things better, smarter, more effectively.

It's not only important WHAT you ask but HOW you ask. There's definitely a diliference .

Don't know about you but I cherish when a fellow VA or a client asks me questions like How would you do this or What do you think of this?

There's no shame in asking.

Approaching someone with a question opens doors,
Uncovers new solutions and sparks a change the way you or someone does things.

Don't be on your journey on your own.

How do you feel about asking others? Good? Uncomfortable? Your ego hurts?

I'm just gonna sit here, and think about all the worst case scenarios whilst opportunities pass me by.

Who's in the same boat?

I met with my client last week.

Nothing urgent, just an actual face to face meet after working together for months - virtually.

I wound myself up so much that I was coming up with ideas how to cancel.

Sweaty palms.
Butterflies.
Panicking about all other work commitments due.

Fast forward to the actual coffee chat.

IT WAS GREAT!

Couldn't have met a lovelier man.
Talking about his business, my business, more future involvement.

So why do we get so hung up on the worst outcomes when actually there are amazing things knocking on the door?

How do you cope with social anxiety?
Do you have a specific technique to overcome your inner chatter?

I would love to know!
