Proud dad moment 💍

On the 30th, our Operations Director Paul Steadman took on one of the most important roles of his career: walking his daughter Lauren down the aisle as she got married.

Paul is usually found keeping our operations running smoothly, but this was one day where the only thing on his mind was his family. And judging by the smiles, it was a day to remember.

At Hyphose, we know that the moments that matter most often happen outside of work. So it’s a real pleasure to celebrate them with our people.

Congratulations to Lauren and her husband, and well done Paul. We’re all very proud of you too. 👏

Well, we've only gone and done it again 😎

Hyphose has recertified with JOSCAR!

Add that to our MOD approval, ISO 9001 and BFPA training, and the certificate wall is getting a bit crowded. Not that we're complaining.

Our customers work in places where quality really matters and the environment is properly hostile. The hydraulic systems have to perform.

Your hydraulic oil can talk. You just need someone who knows how to listen.

We took this sample during a full hose inspection on a customer's 3500t injection moulding machine, and it came back clean and uncontaminated, a good sign the machine is in good condition.

Contamination. It's one of the biggest causes of hydraulic system failure, and on the South Coast, that means downtime on the water or downtime on the job. Neither is cheap.

Keeping the ports moving!

Down at the port this week, one ferry had a problem with a steering ram hydraulic pipe failure on the crane, mid-unload.

It was an out-of-hours call-out. Our engineer responded, diagnosed the fault, and replaced the hose, getting the crane back up and running with no time lost.

It's work like this that keeps critical infrastructure moving.

A shoutout to Gary Lacey (Managing Director) and Paul Steadman (Operations Director).

Good culture doesn't happen by accident. It's built by leaders who turn up, know the job inside out, and back their team to do the same. That's Gary and Paul in a nutshell.

🌩️ Some machines just refuse to stay buried.

On the 28th of August, as thunderclouds rolled in and the first heavy rain in weeks finally broke, a very different kind of storm was brewing on one farm, the start of an adventure over three decades in the making.

Buried under years of blackberry bushes, hedgerow and undergrowth sat a Komatsu excavator, untouched since it was last used by a young man's great-great-grandfather. What started as spiders' webs and (we're reliably told) four robins' nests slowly gave way to spanners, battery chargers, and a whole lot of patience.

Some time later, she coughed, spluttered, and turned over, smoke rising into the clouds as if she'd never stopped. But bringing her back from the undergrowth was only half the battle. Rotten hydraulic pipes and seized track motors stood between this machine and getting back to work.

That's where we came in. One of our engineers went out, worked through the issues, and got her hydraulics running again, ready to lift, dig and work the fields just as she did generations ago.

All of this because a 17-year-old set himself a challenge: bring his great-great-grandfather's digger back to life, and put her back to work on the same land she'd worked decades before.

Some stories are about machines. This one's about legacy.
