I SEE THINGS DIFFERENTLY NOW.

Last week I went to Germany for Tony Robbins.

I went expecting to learn.
To be inspired.
To come home with some new ideas.

But I think I came home with something much bigger.

Perspective.

Sometimes you spend so long building, working, solving problems and trying to get to the next level that you don’t realise how much your thinking has become shaped by what’s directly in front of you.

Then something shakes you out of it.

Different people.
Different conversations.
Different energy.
Different possibilities.

And suddenly you start asking yourself better questions.

Am I really showing up at the level I’m capable of?

Not just in business.

As a coach.
As a leader.
As a husband and dad.
As a friend.
As a person.

Because one of my biggest takeaways from Germany wasn’t about achieving more just for the sake of having more.

It was about becoming more so I can give more.

Serve more people.
Create more impact.
Be more present.
Lead better.
Think bigger.
Stop playing within boundaries I’ve probably created for myself.

I’ve spent years helping other business owners see what’s possible in themselves and their businesses.

Now it’s time for me to raise my own standard.

To show up better.
Show up stronger.
And serve at a completely different level.

I’m not going to make some huge announcement about what’s next.

Not yet.

But something has definitely shifted.

And I genuinely feel like I’m only just getting started.

You're getting blamed for taking their money, while you're barely keeping enough of it to cover the chair.

Because they don't see that before anyone gets paid, VAT takes twenty percent off the top, card fees take another cut, and the utility bills eat whatever is left.

So while they think you’re getting rich off their cuts, you're actually sitting there stressing over whether the shop is even going to break even this month.

I used to think: "If I get rid of them, I lose £800 a week in cuts, and I just can't afford that right now."

An empty chair is an obvious cost. You see the gap on the rota, and it hurts.

What you don't see is the bill, you're already paying to keep them there.

Every time they give someone attitude or rush a haircut, that client never comes back.

That's hundreds of pounds gone in lifetime value.

The biggest mistake barbers make, in choosing between word of mouth OR posting online to attract clients.

Is that it’s not an "OR" game. It’s an "AND" game.

You don’t just rely on great haircuts and hope people tell their mates.

And you don’t just post two reels a week and pray the algorithm saves you.

You do both, with an overwhelming amount of effort until your chairs are overflowing.

If a barber wanted a higher split, they didn't have to come beg for a pay rise—they unlocked it automatically by hitting their rebooking, target numer and retail numbers.

The moment your team can see a clear path to earn more money inside your business, they stop looking for the exit.

Because people don't leave shops where they're still growing.

I spent years terrified that adding five pounds to my price would empty my shop overnight.

Now, if you're a shop owner on the floor, 'VAT' might just sound like an annual nightmare that wipes out your savings.
But all it really is is a £90,000 threshold set by the government.
The second your total shop takings pass £90k, the taxman takes 20% of your gross turnover.
Most barbers panic.

Every single problem found its way to my phone.
Including that Friday night in the car park.
That is not owning a business.
That is a job with a much bigger bill.
What changed for me, wasn't working harder.
It was the first time I wrote a process down on paper and shared it.
I never had to answer that same question again.
One less call at nine o'clock and one less Sunday on the books.
Because the moment you stop being the one who answers everything, that's the moment you actually start owning something
