October at Shoots Training 🎃🍂 What a month it’s been!

🎃 Our learners got into the Halloween spirit with fun, spooky-themed activities, getting creative and bringing learning to life!

🎓 We’ve been out and about at school careers fairs and the Dorset Chamber Business Expo, connecting with future learners, parents and local businesses. It’s been fantastic to see so much interest in our Level 1 Study Programmes and apprenticeships!

🏆 We attended the Portsmouth & Chichester Apprenticeship Awards, where our very own Katie Mann won Mentor of the Year! We’re incredibly proud of Katie and the positive impact she makes on our learners every day. We were also thrilled to be shortlisted for Training Provider of the Year, making it into the final seven!

✍️ Through our Real Talk blogs, we explored the benefits of apprenticeships, including what it’s like to choose an apprenticeship at 18. We shared insights into earning while learning, gaining experience and taking those first steps towards a future career.

💜 We continued important conversations around mental health and diversity, celebrating individuality and championing an inclusive environment where everyone can feel supported, valued and able to thrive.

🌱 We’re also making a difference for the planet! Through our partnership with Ecologi, we funded 40 trees this month, helping us take another step towards a greener future.

📚We also shared some practical advice on passing Level 2 Functional Skills in Maths and English, covering exam preparation, building confidence and how the right tutor support can help learners achieve their goals.

📢 We shared an important update for early years employers, highlighting changes to the Level 3 Early Years Educator Apprenticeship coming from 1st November 2026. The redesigned programme will bring a more structured learning journey, clearer progress tracking and greater employer involvement.

We’re incredibly proud that Shoots Training made the final 7 for Training Provider of the Year and a huge congratulations to Katie Mann for winning Mentor of the Year!🥳

Katie’s achievement reflects the pride we take in supporting our learners, providing high-quality training and ensuring every apprentice receives the guidance and encouragement they need to succeed. Our mentors play such an important role in helping learners build confidence, develop their skills and reach their full potential, and it’s fantastic to see this recognised. Congratulations Katie!

It was inspiring to hear the apprentices’ stories and celebrate the life-changing opportunities apprenticeships can offer.

Just like the seasons, we all go through periods of change. Some days you’ll feel confident and motivated, other days, simply showing up is enough.🫶

At Shoots, we understand that learning and developing look different for everyone. That’s why our training is personalised, with support along the way to help every learner grow at their own pace❤️

So, as we step into autumn, remember to give yourself a little grace. You don’t have to do everything at once, and you certainly don’t have to do it alone.

World Mental Health Day🫶

A reminder that looking after your mental health is just as important as looking after your physical health.

Life, work, learning and everything in between can feel overwhelming sometimes. You don’t have to have everything figured out, and you don’t have to deal with things on your own❤️

Taking a break. Setting a boundary. Asking for help. Checking in with someone. Taking things one day at a time. These things matter.

At Shoots, we believe that people learn and grow best when they feel supported, valued and able to be themselves. So today, take a moment to check in with yourself and check in on someone else too🤝
