Sometimes, it’s the simplest things that make the biggest difference. 🔥

Our engineers spend plenty of time testing smoke detectors with their trusty smoke pole, but there’s another essential bit of kit that doesn’t get quite as much attention…

A cloth. 😂

Once the detector has been tested, that smoke needs to be cleared out otherwise we could end up with a very enthusiastic alarm activation after the engineer has already packed away!

It might not be the most technical piece of equipment in the van, but it’s an essential part of doing the job properly.

Because in fire safety, it’s often the basic things that make the biggest difference. 👌

From gyms to car showrooms, offices to rooftops, and even home cinemas… our engineers really do get to see it all! 👀

Every day brings a different building, a different environment and a different challenge.

One of the things we love about what we do is the sheer variety of applications our systems protect. There’s no “typical” PFS site, and there’s certainly no type of building we haven’t been exposed to.

From the places people work, train and relax, to the spaces above and beyond the everyday, our engineers have the knowledge and experience to work across them all.

From testing and servicing to fault finding and commissioning, there’s not much our engineers can’t get their hands on.

🏢 Vacant doesn’t mean forgotten.

Testing vacant buildings means our engineers can often get around sites quickly and efficiently, but that doesn’t mean the fire alarm system can be left unchecked.

Even when a building isn’t occupied, the fire alarm system still needs to be maintained, tested and kept compliant.

Empty building? Still a fire risk. Still a system that needs looking after. 🔥

🌟 Work With Us Wednesday🌟

This week, we’re doing things a little differently.

Rather than shining the spotlight on one particular role, we wanted to recognise a number of our fantastic team members who have consistently gone above and beyond and continue to make a real difference to the business. 👏

As a small thank you for their hard work and commitment, we decided to treat them to a night out at our local football club, Southend United, last Friday. ⚽️

While the football result wasn’t quite what the team had hoped for, thankfully the same couldn’t be said for our PFS team! 😄 They had a brilliant evening, enjoying the match, spending time together and representing PFS from the stands.

Engineers, Service Coordinators, Reactive Coordinators, Estimators, Contracts Administrators, Account Managers, just a selection of the team who make everything we do possible!

📞 The weekend is calling... but there's still work to be done!

One of the best things about working in the fire and life safety industry is the variety. No two days are the same, and our engineers work across a wide range of systems from different manufacturers.

This time it's a routine service on a Baldwin Boxall Omnicare system, ensuring it's ready to perform should it ever be needed.

Whether it's fire alarms, PAVA, EVCS, emergency lighting or other life safety systems, regular maintenance is what keeps buildings protected and compliant.

Here's to another productive week on the tools. Have a fantastic weekend, and we'll be back doing it all again on Monday! 👷🔧

🔥 This week, our engineers were carrying out routine testing and maintenance on a Siemens Cerberus fire alarm system.

Every manufacturer has its own technology, software and way of working, which is why ongoing training and manufacturer partnerships are so important, especially when they're linked to other systems!

As a Siemens partner, we have the knowledge and expertise to support our clients throughout the lifecycle of their fire detection systems, from routine servicing and fault finding to commissioning and system upgrades.

Whether it's Siemens or one of the many other manufacturers we work with, our focus is always the same: delivering reliable life safety systems that our customers can depend on.

👷 Work With Us Wednesday

This week we're introducing you to Dan, our Works Manager.

Dan has been busy leading our Works department, coordinating from the office while supporting our engineers out in the field to ensure every job runs smoothly.

Before stepping into management, Dan was one of our engineers, carrying out installations, remedial works and commissioning. That hands-on experience means he understands exactly what it takes to deliver quality work on site.

Although he's swapped the tools for a desk, his technical knowledge is never far away. Dan is always on hand to help the office team understand what our engineers are doing on site, explaining how different systems and components work, and sharing his experience so we can provide an even better service to our customers.

Bridging the gap between the office and the field is no easy task, but Dan's practical knowledge and willingness to help make him an invaluable part of the team.
