So, what is a Heritage Consultant and how can we help you...?
Under the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF or the planning guidelines that Local Authority use to make decisions by) it requires every one making a planning application that is either for a listed building, in a conservation area or within the setting of a listed building or a listed building consent application to provide a Heritage Statement.
This is a document that provides details on what and why is important AND make an assessment as to whether the proposed works are a negative effect on the listed building. As part of my role, we can help guide you to writing a heritage statement or we can undertake them on your behalf. ..and that's just one of things a Heritage Consultant does...

.... Southend also owns two other Museums.. the 'old library', now the Beehive Art Gallery and the 'old, old Library' now the Central Museum. (The new library is just off the High Street with another Art Gallery!!)
