MHFA England’s new Online Mental Health First Aid Course

This new course officially launched on 29th May and it carries the same learning objectives and content as the MHFA England Adult Two Day course.

Online Mental Health First Aid is a skills-based course which qualifies delegates as Mental Health First Aiders. Mental Health First Aiders have:

An in-depth understanding of mental health and the factors that can affect wellbeing
Practical skills to spot the triggers and signs of mental health issues
Confidence to step in, reassure and support a person in distress
Enhanced interpersonal skills such as non-judgemental listening
Knowledge to help someone recover their health by guiding them to further support – whether that’s self-help resources, through their employer, the NHS or a mix of sources

Learning takes place through a blend of four live instructor-led sessions, between 2 – 2.5 hours each, plus a total of 15 hours self-learning activities undertaken before the instructor sessions via the MHFA online learning hub. The four live sessions are spread over a 2-4 week period, making it easier to fit in with other commitments. Each session is built around the Mental Health First Aid action plan and delegates work through case studies to embed learning.

Everyone who completes the course gets:

A comprehensive MHFA Two Day manual to refer to whenever they need it
A workbook including helpful tools to support others’ and their own mental health
A wallet-sized fold-out MHFA Action Plan
An MHFA e-certificate to say they are a Mental Health First Aider

Día 21 del desafío de 25 flexiones

Yo nomino nadie donate to MIND!

He sido nominado por Emanuel Galvan a un desafío de 25 flexiones de brazos por 25 días para ojalá levantar conciencia por DSPT (desorden de stress post traumático) Ansiedad y depresión que lleva a la gente a cometer suicidio.

Las reglas son simples:

•Una vez que has sido nominado tus 25 comienzan al día siguiente.
•Cada día te grabas a ti mismo haciendo las 25 flexiones aún que tengas que apoyar tus rodillas para hacer 25.
•Cada día debes nominar a una persona diferente.

Alcancemos la mayor cantidad de gente posible. Esperemos que al hacer esto podamos construir sensibilización hacia cualquiera que esté sufriendo por una enfermedad mental, tu no estás solo y estamos aquí para ti.

¡No tengas miedo de alzar tu voz!

Day 21 of the 25 press-up challenge

I’ve been nominated by Ema to a 25 push-ups for 25 days challenge to hopefully raise awareness for PTSD (post traumatic stress disorder), anxiety and depression that drive people to commit su***de.

The rules are simple:

•Once you are nominated your 25 five days starts the following day.
•Every day you record yourself doing 25 pushups even if you have to drop your knees to get 25.
•Every day you must nominate a different person.

Let’s reach as many as possible. Let’s hope by doing these we can built awareness for anyone who is suffering for a mental illness, your not alone and we are here for you.
