Bed Bug treatment

One bedroom affected. Mostly from the headboard which is now out the room ready for burning. The whole room was cleared out, steamed to a high temperature and then treated with a dual combination of high quality insecticides specially made for Bed Bugs.

Another severe carpet moth issue

Job today to treat a severely infested house with woollen carpets in most rooms. Luckily I found the original source. Under the stairs cupboard which was heavily infested. Ripped those straight out and gone.

All infected rooms were vacuumed, chemically treated and then fogged. All with a combination of different chemicals. Forget to record using the fogger.

Second treatment in 2 weeks time.

Rare Black Rat

Current job ongoing with what I now believe to be two species of Rat activity in the building. Black Rats in the ceiling voids. Brown Rats coming from the sewer.

This one caught on camera is living up in the ceiling voids of a local business. They also have Rat activity in the main office but believe that to be the common Norway Rat.

Black Rats are predominantly found in Port city areas like Portsmouth where this issue is. They are smaller than the Brown Rat with slightly different features. I had to get this identified from other professionals as I was about 80% certain but not entirely. Also, Black Rats are not always Black. They can vary in colour from grey to black. They are also brilliant climbers and use their tails for balance. This can be seen clearly on the video.

This is the first time I have seen one.

Bed Bug Survey

Went to a flat near me after I had finished my jobs. Report of Bed Bugs.

Took approx 2 minutes to confirm it was. Explained my treatment programme which includes heat and chemicals. Most people do not believe me when I start talking about life cycles of Bed Bugs, heat treating and the use of crap Amazon products which makes it worse.

I know what works and I won’t change my approach to treating these little fu***rs.

Mouse issue in a local takeaway restaurant

Called out to a Mouse issue in a local Southsea takeaway. To be honest it wasn’t that bad. The premises was clean enough. I have seen a few and some are disgusting. This premises has already got contract pest control in place but it’s not working. They called me in to get rid of the Mice that the current company should be dealing with? Anyway, done what I normally do and will go back in a week.
