Built specifically for the job. ⚡

A closer look at the custom built electrical panels for our Barnsgate project, designed and manufactured around the specific requirements of the site.

For commercial energy projects, off the shelf solutions aren't always the answer. The electrical infrastructure behind the system needs to be carefully considered to ensure everything works together safely, efficiently and reliably.

These custom panels form another important part of the infrastructure being delivered at Barnsgate, and it's great to see the project continuing to take shape.

We'll be sharing more from the site as work progresses.

Commercial solar designed for a high-energy industrial site. ☀️
Four Seasons Fuel approached DW Energy after rising electricity costs became a growing concern at its Coneyhurst premises. With heavy machinery operating alongside the company’s office facilities, the site required a substantial and reliable source of on-site electricity generation.

DW Energy designed and installed a 106.9 kWp commercial solar PV system featuring:

• 264 Solarwatt panels
• 48 panels across the office building
• 216 panels across the warehouse
• Three SolaX three-phase inverters
• Specialist fixings selected for the fragile warehouse roof

Careful planning allowed the available roof space to be maximised without compromising the warehouse roof’s watertight integrity.

The completed system now generates electricity to support both the office and machinery-intensive warehouse, helping reduce the business’s reliance on grid power when solar energy is available.

Plug-in solar panels are now legal to buy and use across Great Britain, giving homeowners, tenants and people living in flats a more accessible way to generate some of their own electricity.

From 27 August 2026, compliant systems can supply up to 800 W of power through a suitable household socket.

However, easy to buy does not mean suitable for every home. Plug-in solar supplies electricity back into the property, so the condition of the wiring, protective devices, chosen socket and installation method all matter.

Before purchasing a system:

• Choose a compliant product from a registered UK seller
• Check the condition of your home’s electrical installation
• Connect directly to a suitable socket
• Never use extension leads or international adaptors
• Mount the panels and cables securely
• Check landlord, freeholder and insurance requirements
• Register the system after installation
• Do not connect or daisy-chain multiple devices

Plug-in solar can provide a useful starting point, but it is not a direct replacement for a professionally designed rooftop system.

Built for care. Ready for the future.

DW Energy delivered the electrical and energy infrastructure for The Poets, a new purpose-built care home in Worthing, West Sussex.

Developed by South Coast Nursing Homes, the facility was designed to provide residents with a modern, safe and comfortable environment. Working alongside Pilbeam Construction over the course of the 12-month project, our team brought the building’s essential electrical, safety, resident-support and renewable energy systems together within one coordinated installation.

Our work included:

⚡ Complete electrical installation
💡 Internal and external lighting
🔔 Data infrastructure and nurse call systems
🔥 Fire alarms and CCTV
☀️ A 161-panel solar PV system
🔌 Six EV charging points

Care homes require reliable power around the clock. By planning these connected services together from the outset, we were able to coordinate their installation with the wider construction programme while giving the project team a single point of responsibility.

The 161-panel solar PV system now provides an on-site source of renewable electricity, helping the care home reduce its reliance on grid power and better manage future electricity costs.

Six EV charging points were also integrated during construction, preparing the site for the changing transport needs of staff, visitors and operational vehicles.

The completed project brings together reliable power, resident-support technology, safety systems, renewable generation and EV charging in one future-ready solution.

We’re proud to have pledged £600 to Sight Support Worthing’s Christmas Big Give campaign, helping the charity exceed its initial £2,500 fundraising target.

This milestone is an important step towards raising £10,000 through matched funding and fundraising activities, supporting blind and visually impaired people across Worthing.

For 116 years, Sight Support Worthing has provided vital services, practical support and inclusive activities for the local community. During 2025 to 2026 alone, the charity delivered:

• More than 490 counselling sessions
• Over 335 technology and scam-awareness sessions
• 141 benefits support sessions
• 209 sighted-guide lifts to medical appointments
• Activities and events attended by more than 3,350 people

Our relationship began through the charity’s commitment to achieving net zero by 2040. With the support of successful funding bids, DW Energy has installed solar panels, EV charging points, LED lighting and electrical upgrades at its main headquarters.

We’re delighted to continue supporting an organisation making such a meaningful difference within our local community.
