Most of us aren’t resistant to change. We’re resistant to uncertainty.
Change isn’t the problem — it’s the not knowing that throws us off.
Not knowing:
- what’s expected now
- whether we’ll still be valued
- how we’ll keep up
- or what success looks like in the new world
In my coaching and consulting work, I don’t treat change as a threat to be managed. I treat it as a constant. The goal isn’t to eliminate discomfort — it’s to build the muscles to operate through it.
