Collection & Delivery Driver - Food Grade Oil
We are a growing food-grade oil delivery and waste cooking oil collection business based in Ashton-under-Lyne, and we are looking for a reliable, hardworking and physically fit Delivery & Collection Driver to join our team.
This is a hands-on driving role, not simply a delivery driving position. The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering fresh cooking oil and collecting used cooking oil from restaurants, takeaways and other food businesses across the North West.
The role involves regular loading, unloading and manual handling, so applicants must be physically fit and comfortable carrying out physical work throughout the day.
Main Responsibilities:
Starting and finishing your working day from our Ashton-under-Lyne base
Driving a company vehicle to customer sites throughout the North West
Delivering fresh food-grade cooking oil to customers
Collecting used cooking oil from customer premises
Loading and unloading oil and containers
Safely moving and handling containers as part of daily collections
Following planned delivery and collection routes
Ensuring collections and deliveries are completed correctly
Completing relevant collection and delivery paperwork
Carrying out basic daily vehicle checks
Keeping the company vehicle clean and presentable
Providing a professional and friendly service to customers
Reporting any problems with collections, deliveries or customer sites
Following company health & safety procedures
What We're Looking For
You must:
Hold a full UK driving licence
Be physically fit and capable of regular manual handling
Be comfortable driving throughout the North West
Be reliable, punctual and trustworthy
Be able to work independently
Have good communication and customer service skills
Be organised and able to follow a daily route
Take good care of company vehicles and equipment
Be flexible regarding increased working hours as the business grows
Previous experience in delivery driving, collections, logistics or a similar physical role would be an advantage, but is not essential as training will be provided.
Working Hours
Monday to Friday – currently 10:00am to 5:00pm
As our customer base and collection rounds continue to grow, the working hours for this position are expected to increase. Applicants should therefore be looking for a long-term position and be willing to increase their hours as the role develops.
