Aviation Security Duty Manager

SES Aviation are now recruiting for permanent Aviation Security Duty Manager.

You will need to have a passion for this service, will care enough to make a difference to a passenger’s day and will take a real pride in everything they do for all our customers.

As an Aviation Duty Manager, you will be working with clients within general (private) aviation industry where the customers enjoy an exceptional experience and with every flight a unique and tailor fit to suit their VIP and CIP demands. No two days will never be the same.

As part of the role, you will be responsible for:
· Carrying out all aspects of aviation duties, including body searching, bag searching and x-ray screening as well as carrying out arrange of supervisory duties.
· Leading and managing allocated team.
· Liaising with clients and FBO staff on flight details and briefing this to the team.
· Ensuring all legislation changes are fully understood to provide the best support to the team.
· implementation of procedures, identifying continuous improvement opportunities, and embedding best practices.
· Leading on the management of schedule and bookings – providing out of hours coverage and be available on call as part of rotation of duties with your peers.
· Carrying out admin tasks where required.

Successful applicants must also be flexible for 24/7 operations which include unsociable hours and weekends. Full training will be provided.
Essential Requirements:
Minimum 2 years’ experience managing and leading a team of 10
Minimum 2 years’ experience working in an Aviation Security role
· Excellent organisational and admin skills
· Excellent IT skills - in various software’s and to pick up new systems easily
· Excellent client relationship experience
· Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
Good understanding of the aviation security regulations
CTC and DBS to be carried out
5-year full background history
Lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years

An Aviation Security Manager is required to be a self-motivated and disciplined individual and who is prepared, mentally and physically to deal with a range of situations. As part of the role, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading, motivating, and directing individuals and teams to deliver an outstanding service.

They will implement and oversee performance metrics to enhance overall team efficiency. Build strong relationships with our clients, ensuring collaborative efforts for mutual success. They will ensure compliance is upheld with industry regulations and internal policies, to maintain the highest standards in service delivery.

We are looking for an individual with excellent leadership skills, communication skills, an approachable manner, and who is well presented. Successful applicants must also be happy to work 2 weekends per month.

Essential requirements:
Minimum 5 years’ experience managing and leading a team of 10
Exceptional leadership skills
Great organisational and admin skills
Excellent IT skills
Excellent client relationship experience
Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
Good understanding of the aviation security regulations
Full 5 year previous work history (with references for any gaps)
Completion of a criminal record check and counter-terrorism check prior to starting
Lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years
Hold full UK driving licence
Full colour vision is required
Offer of role dependant on passing full vetting
Desirable:
Previous experience in aviation security
Current CTC clearance

In return, we will offer you, on successful completion of your probationary period, we will offer you:
Salary £38,000 - £42,000 (depending on experience)

We are excited to invite applications to join our ever-growing team of Ground Security Officers at Stansted.

Do you have a passion for delivering excellent customer service? Are you proactive, positive, and able to work as part of a team? If so, we would love to hear from you.

An Aviation Security Officer is required to be a self-motivated and disciplined individual and who is prepared, mentally and physically to deal with range of situations. The successful candidates will be working with clients within general (private) aviation industry where the customers enjoy an exceptional experience and with every flight a unique and tailor fit to suit their VIP and CIP demands, your two days will never be the same.

As part of the role, the successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out all aspects of aviation duties, including body searching, bag searching and x-ray screening. There are elements of manual handling within this role, such as bending to complete body and bag searching, and moving bags.

• 2 years’ experience in a customer service role

• Lived in the UK for a minimum of 3 years
• Hold full UK driving licence
• Full colour vision is required to screen cabin and hold baggage
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills
• Offer of role dependant on passing full vetting
Desirable:
• Ground Security Operative qualification
• Previous experience in aviation security
• Current CTC clearance

Last week we celebrated Airport Safety Week, where we held team briefings with all our airport operational and managerial staff.

It was a great opportunity to refresh ourselves on the importance of safety aspects involved when working at an airport and our responsibilities to this within our roles.

Some subjects covered were:

FOD Awareness – Clean as You Go
Driving Awareness – Airside Safety

After the briefings and videos it was a good reminder for all to what their responsibilities are and to what the costs could be if we did not adhere to the safety regulations.

The SES Aviation team were keen to raise some funds for charity and were please to choose Great Ormond Street to raise these funds for, as it is such an important charity helping children and supporting their families.

The team brought in some cakes and savouries to offer all staff and visitors in exchange of a donation. Everyone was very charitable, and a good amount of funds were raised for GOSH.

Our Air Cargo eLearning courses are now live at www.sesacademy.co.uk

Designed by industry experts, the modules in these courses will provide delegates with the knowledge and understanding of the Air Cargo Supply Regime and the necessary skills to implement and support the security operation in the Cargo environment.

These courses are for staff involved in transporting Secure Cargo in the Cargo Supply Chain. The duration of this learning is around 3 hours, depending on the learners and their own understanding. User progress is saved, meaning you do not need to complete the course in one sitting; you can log out and continue where you left off later.
