✨ Another stunning Indian Sandstone restoration completed! ✨

This beautiful Indian Sandstone floor had been left unsealed for over 20 years, allowing dirt and contaminants to become deeply embedded within the surface.

Using our specialist carborundum brush system, we carried out a deep clean to safely remove years of built-up grime and restore the natural character of the stone. Once fully cleaned and dried, the floor was treated with Tile Doctor Colour Grow, a premium impregnating sealer designed to enhance the stone’s natural colours while providing long-lasting protection.

The transformation speaks for itself – rich warm tones, improved definition in the stone, and a finish that will be far easier to maintain for years to come.

Hidden away deep in the heart of Borrowdale Valley, this beautiful secluded cottage held a secret beneath .

After decades hidden from view, this stunning Lakeland green slate floor has finally been brought back to life.

Carefully deep cleaned, restored and sealed, the natural character and rich green tones of the slate have been revealed once again while allowing the stone to breathe. Every flag has its own history, and restoring floors like this is always a privilege.

The photographs simply don’t do this floor justice. In person, the colour, texture and depth of the green slate are absolutely breathtaking.

Period Property Flagged Floor Restoration

A rewarding project in a beautiful period property featuring a truly unique centrepiece – a full-size snooker table that remained in situ throughout the restoration process. Careful planning and protection allowed us to work around this impressive feature while delivering a complete floor restoration.

This traditional flagged stone floor had suffered from years of ingrained soiling, worn joints and a dull appearance. The restoration began with carefully re-pointing areas of the floor where required, helping to stabilise the flags and improve the overall finish.

The floor was then deep cleaned using Tile Doctor Pro-Clean, followed by Tile Doctor Remove & Go to remove old residues, embedded dirt and contaminants trapped within the stone. After thorough rinsing and neutralising, the true character of the stone began to emerge.

To protect the floor while maintaining the needs of an older property, we applied Tile Doctor Colour Grow, a breathable impregnating sealer. This enhances the natural tones and character of the stone while allowing moisture vapour to pass through the floor—an important consideration for traditional flagged floors.

The result is a beautifully restored, breathable stone floor with enhanced colour, improved durability and a finish that complements the character of this stunning period home and its unique snooker room.

A rewarding restoration completed this week on a beautiful Victorian quarry tile floor.

Years of ingrained dirt, old residues and surface contamination had left the tiles looking tired and unable to perform as they should. After a deep clean and careful preparation, the floor was sealed with a breathable finish, enhancing the rich natural colour while allowing moisture within the floor to evaporate naturally.

Quarry tiles need to breathe, particularly in older properties, so choosing the correct cleaning and sealing system is essential. The result is a floor that’s easier to maintain, protected from everyday wear, and looking much closer to how it was intended.

A great transformation that has brought warmth, character and life back to this period floor.

Another beautiful transformation completed on this stunning cottage slate floor, right next door to Dove Cottage – the former home of William Wordsworth.

Coastal hamlet setting for this floor , water based varnish had been applied to make the floor look like yorkstone, test sample carried out as you can see on the pic below was quite effective. Proceeded to clean and seal
