See Airedale through a patient’s eyes

Could you help make a difference to the experience of patients, visitors and families at Airedale?

*AGH Solutions and Airedale NHS Foundation Trust colleagues* are being invited to volunteer as PLACE (Patient-Led Assessments of the Care Environment) Staff Assessors, helping review areas such as cleanliness, food, privacy, accessibility and the overall hospital environment.

It’s a great opportunity to step away from your usual role, visit different areas of the hospital and gain a fresh perspective on how the services we provide support patient care.

✅ Full training provided
✅ Flexible commitment with manager approval

Come along and cheer on Team Airedale at this year’s Football Charity Tournament!

Taking place from 10am on Saturday 22 August at Dixons Allerton Academy, the event promises a great day of football, fundraising and community spirit.

AGH Solutions colleagues are helping to organise Team Airedale's involvement, with Rob Headley pulling on the boots to represent Team Airedale on the pitch, while Bethany Chadwick will be helping to coordinate the event and rally support from the sidelines.

There’ll be plenty to enjoy off the pitch too, including a BBQ, ice cream van and fundraising activities throughout the day.

Planning permission is approved, contracts are signed, and construction is now underway on the new Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) and Clinical Facility at Airedale General Hospital.

After months of planning and preparation, it’s great to see work starting on site. Even better, the groundworks are getting underway in the summer sunshine!

A fantastic milestone achieved through partnership working between AGH Solutions, Hive Projects, VINCI Building and Airedale NHS Foundation Trust.

After more than 30 years of dedicated service, AGH Solutions colleague Jeanette Whittaker is saying goodbye to Airedale and hello to retirement.

A familiar face across the hospital, Jeanette has spent decades helping keep wards and departments clean, safe and welcoming for patients, visitors and colleagues.

She first joined Airedale General Hospital as a Domestic Assistant in 1992. After a brief two-year break, she returned in 1999 and has spent the last 27 years helping to keep the hospital running smoothly.

As she begins her next chapter, Jeanette is looking forward to spending more time with her family, as well as enjoying her hobbies of sewing, crocheting and gardening.

Jeanette's team pulled out all the stops for her retirement, giving her cleaning trolley a makeover and presenting her with numerous gifts, including a custom AGH Solutions teddy.

From everyone at AGH Solutions, thank you for everything, Jeanette. We wish you a long, happy and well-deserved retirement.

Happy Cycle to Work Day! 🚴‍♂️

Today, we're shining a spotlight on Simon Dean, our Asbestos & Compliance Manager, who swaps four wheels for two on his journey to work.

Simon has cycled from Keighley to Airedale General Hospital regularly for the past three years, helping to reduce carbon emissions while staying active.

Simon said: “Cycling to work helps me start the day feeling energised and gives me time to clear my head before work. It's also a great way to fit exercise into my daily routine.”

Thanks, Simon, for helping us celebrate Cycle to Work Day and showing that sustainable travel can be both practical and rewarding.

🏃‍♀️ Go Adele! 🏃‍♀️

This Sunday, AGH Solutions Capital Contracts Manager Adele Watson takes on her first ever organised race as she lines up for the York 10K, raising money for Airedale Hospital and Community Charity.

Adele has set herself the challenge of completing two 10Ks in 2026, with the Leeds Abbey Dash following later this year.

After months of preparation, she's ready to take on the challenge, with husband Gavin and daughters Phoebe and Connie cheering her on from the sidelines.

Good luck, Adele. We'll all be rooting for you and can't wait to see you cross that finish line! 🎉

🌟 From Apprentice to Award Winner! 🌟

At AGH Solutions, we’re proud to offer apprenticeships that help colleagues build skills, gain qualifications and make a real difference.

Sam Brockbank is a brilliant example.

After joining the Procurement Team as an apprentice, Sam achieved a distinction in his CIPS qualification and recently received a Pride of Airedale Award in recognition of his outstanding contribution, commitment to teamwork and dedication to delivering value.

His journey shows just how rewarding an apprenticeship can be, and the opportunities it can create for future career development.
