Looking forward to the PLASA show next week…

We're preparing for a busy few days at PLASA Show and are delighted to be sharing space with Rigging Team on stand G27. We'll have a Broadweigh demonstration set up for visitors to see and interact with and you'll be able to find out more about our new wired kit as well as our new software which we first debuted at ABTT Theatre Show back in June. If you're at the show, pop by the stand, ask for a demonstration and talk to us about how Broadweigh kit can assist you with keeping your live events safe.

What a weekend! 💪

A busy Bank Holiday weekend for Rigging Team across a whole host of events and productions.

Amongst the many jobs taking place:

🎪 Reading & Leeds Festivals – providing both ground-supported and flown truss systems to support a drape ceiling, transforming a big top tent into a ballroom.

🎤 Appetite on the Farm, Kelvedon Hall – PA masts installed to support the event production.

🔊 Rally Fest, Southwark Park – 4 PA masts supplied and installed for another busy festival site.

🐕 Jo Malone London – working for Family, we installed an inflatable dog for the launch of their new dog grooming line. Not your everyday rigging job!

⚽ AEW: All In London, Wembley Stadium – installing the longest wire-cam system ever at this venue, adding another project to our Wembley portfolio.

🎭 And alongside all of that, our regular programme continued, including the latest move of Burlesque the Musical.

It takes a huge amount of coordination to deliver this many projects across a single weekend, often with tight schedules and last minute changes.

A huge thank you to everyone involved – our onsite teams, warehouse team and project management/admin teams. The variety of work we undertake is only possible because of the hard work, flexibility and commitment of the whole of Rigging Team.

Earlier this week, our team were back at the Donmar Warehouse for two very different jobs.

We de-rigged our Prolyte B100CW catwalk truss following its use on the Donmar’s recent production of ‘The Guilty’, before installing a Moveket automation system for their upcoming production of ‘A Month in the Country’, which opens tomorrow.

A busy couple of days for the team, and another great opportunity to support the Donmar across two productions.

Thanks to our brilliant team for making it happen — and it’s great to continue our partnership with the Donmar Warehouse.

In the build-up to yesterday’s eclipse, Rigging Team were working on a different kind of light. 💡

We’ve been collaborating with Courts Engineering on the reinstatement of four heritage lantern heads at Seymour Leisure Centre — an historic 1930s Grade II-listed landmark in Marylebone, London.

Originally installed in 1936, the lantern heads were designed and rebuilt by Courts Engineering, with Rigging Team providing bespoke access and support structures to facilitate their removal earlier this year for restoration — and, yesterday, their careful reinstatement.

With the site currently closed as part of a £44 million redevelopment, and no possibility of road or pavement closures, traditional plant and cranes simply weren’t an option. Our bespoke access and support solution allowed the work to be carried out safely and efficiently within the tight constraints of the site.

The redevelopment is due to be completed in spring 2027, when Seymour Leisure Centre will reopen — with these four original lanterns once again helping to light the way.

A huge thanks to our Project Manager, Ade Skelton, for leading the project. Ade may have a few years under his belt, but thankfully he’s still a good 50 years younger than the lanterns — and considerably better at keeping his age under wraps! 😉

Another great collaboration with Courts Engineering, and another piece of London’s architectural heritage carefully preserved.

Over the past couple of weeks we've shared plenty of updates about last-minute projects, urgent equipment requirements and welcoming new team members. Meanwhile, behind the scenes, our Inspections Team have been quietly getting on with what they do best, working their way through an exceptionally busy summer schedule.

One of this week's visits took them to the beautiful Theatre Royal Nottingham, a venue with which we have enjoyed a long-standing relationship. It's always a pleasure to return and, as ever, we received a warm welcome from the team.

Our inspection engineers are working hard across the UK, helping theatres, venues and production companies maintain safe, compliant lifting equipment and rigging systems, ensuring everything is ready for the productions and events that audiences enjoy.

A huge thank you to the team at Theatre Royal Nottingham for your continued support—we look forward to seeing you again soon.

What happens when you urgently need additional truss 240 miles away from your base, and your warehouse doesn't have what you need?

You call SIXTY82UK.

At 11:37am yesterday, our team on site discovered they urgently needed two additional sections of truss at very specific lengths. Unfortunately, we didn't have the required pieces—or a suitable combination to achieve those lengths—in our own stock.

A quick call to Johnny at Sixty82 UK, and he confirmed they had exactly what we needed... just in the wrong colour!

Not a problem.

After a brief discussion, they immediately arranged for the truss to be powder coated and dispatched directly to site the very same day.

🕧 Order placed: 12:32pm
🚚 Delivered to venue: 6:10pm

Less than six hours from placing the order to delivery on site—including powder coating.
