We’re updating how we share our details at Link!

New NFC cards are being rolled out; one touch to bring up a contact card with links to send an email, message on WhatsApp, connect on LinkedIn and so on.

They even have a bonus QR code on the back, just in case.

We think they’re pretty slick.

Orisec came to the Link CCTV offices this month to deliver some updated technical training.

It's always much more beneficial to get hands on with the equipment; and reassuring that the products live up to expectations when you can test them live. I think we had the wireless mesh working from inside the back of the building to a device out in the front car park!

We’re looking forward to delivering this high quality system into a remarkable building later this month.

Jackson Square Shopping Centre has just gone live with a significant upgrade and expansion to its security systems, handed over this month.

A new phase of cameras and video intercoms has been installed across the site – including approximately three kilometres of new fibre optic cabling to support the centre for years to come. Even a touch of wireless has been added in the spots where running cable wasn't going to work. Behind every core (copper or fibre!) sits a project planned hand-in-hand with a client who trusted us to deliver.

Installing and maintaining security systems means our colleagues spend a great deal of time on the road, so the vehicles that carry them to site are where a large share of our carbon footprint sits. That is where we chose to focus first.

Three years ago the fleet was entirely diesel. Today 45% of the vehicles now in service are either electric or hybrid, with further changes planned as vehicles reach the end of their working life.

The change has been gradual and planned; we replace each vehicle as its service life ends and choose the cleaner option when we do, which keeps the transition affordable while moving us steadily in the right direction.

These vehicles are also a massive quality upgrade for our hardworking engineers who get to enjoy a much more comfortable ride as they visit our clients around the country.

Blue screens of death across a system are the kind of thing no site manager wants to find waiting for them in the morning.

April brought a few quiet milestones at the Stevenage office.

Our awards wall has grown again. A decade of team photos, project moments and charity efforts, all in one place; a useful reminder of how much ground the team has covered together.

Getting the service engineers in the same room is rare, given how spread out everyone is across the country. April gave us that chance, and the day was as much about catching up properly as it was about the technical agenda.
