With silage season just around the corner are you are looking to save money on your pit silage this season? If so then why not consider a forage wagon.
Forage wagons can save a considerable volume of fuel compared to a chopper. Not only can you save on fuel you will also save on compaction in your fields without unnecessary travel across them.
We have 3 wagons running this season -
- [ ] 51 cube wagon on 620 tyres
- [ ] 60 cube wagon on 710 tyres
- [ ] 65 cube wagon on 800 tyres
- all wagons with steering axles.
These wagons can achieve 100 acres a day if not more depending on distance from the pit to the field. With nearly the same output as a chopper but with massive savings on fuel. Rough fuel savings compared to a chopper is around 15 litres an acre. The wagon chop length of silage is around 35mm chop length.
New for this season is a JCB 414s loading shovel with a 14 foot buckrake. Allowing more output on the pit to push up wagon loads and plenty of time for rolling to be done, which reduces the risk of loss of silage when comes to feeding out time.
This season with the current fuel prices unsettled, either the farmer can supply the fuel after the job is complete or if the fuel isnβt supplied then will be metered at our tanks and invoiced for at the current sale price.
Whole or part jobs considered.
