United Auctions Huntly on 9th September 2026 Sold 1054 Prime Sheep.
New Season Lambs (601) averaged 303p per kg to 347p per kg for 53kg Tex from 2 Balloch View, Grange and to £208 gross for 87kg from South Retannach, Rothiemay.
A smaller show of lambs this week sold to better trade, with an SQQ average of 314p per kg. Ewes met a sharper trade on the week, topping at £268 for three texels from SJC Livestock, Corskie.

Islay – United Auctions (Friday 4th September) sold 4718 sheep of all classes. Lambs averaged £109.36 per head (+£9.28) and 321.69p/kg (+35.25p/kg).

All classes of lambs were shown on average 1kg lighter on the year but selling at increased rates with the lighter lambs seeing the greatest rise!
All classes of feeding sheep sold well in line with mainland centres!

S Abberley, Ronnachmore topped the per head section today with Texel Lambs at £158 and M/s McHarrie 2 Ballinaby topped the pence per Kilo with a pen of Suffolk lambs at 411p/kg.
Cast Ewes sold to £330 for a pen of Three Texel ewes from S Abberley.

United Auctions Huntly Saturday 5th September 2026 Sold 4101 sheep at their annual sale of Breeding Sheep. Gimmers met an outstanding trade for all classes. Ewe lambs met a strong trade for tupping lambs whilst smaller ewe lambs met some resistance to last years highs. In the pre sale show, sponsored by Iain MacEachen, Livestock Transport. Andy Smith, Bogentassie judged the gimmer section whilst Lewis Smith, Towiemore judged the ewe lambs. Results are as follows:-

United Auctions, Stirling (Saturday 5th September 2026) sold 10,838 breeding sheep at their annual show and sale of Scotch Mule Ewe Lambs sponsored by J Cooper & Co. Haulage Contractors, Gartocharn, and ably judged by Mr A. Smellie, Hatton Knowe. Also sale of Cheviot Mule and Blackface ewe lambs.

The pre sale show of 26 pens forward was won by Midlock Farms Ltd and realised £300 to S. Ryder, Holme House. This top price was shared with Burncastle who sold two pens of 30 also for £300 to J. Paterson, East D***s.

The Cheviot Mules were topped at £205 twice for a pen of 35 from W & PK Wason, Redwells and a pen of 29 from Islahill Partners, Coxhill.

The Blackface section was topped by a pen of 32 from J W Bennie, Merkins selling at £260. Closely followed by £215 for a pen of 30 from the same good home.
