Caledonian Marts Ltd held their weekly Sale of Prime Cattle, Young Bulls & OTM Cattle.

A great entry forward with 70 Prime Cattle from 480kg to 922kg with buyers present for all classes.

A much plainer show of cows forward with more boning types being offered today.

Prime Bullocks averaged 350ppk selling to 405ppk on three occasions twice for two Limousins from A Kennedy, Seggarsdean and once for a British Blue from Ross Brothers, Wardhead and per head to £3227 for an Aberdeen Angus again from Ross Brothers, Wardhead.

Prime Heifers averaged 378ppk selling to 430ppk for a Limousin from W M Pettigrew, Faskine purchased by D Campbell & Son Butchers, Callander and per head to £2934 for a Limousin from Ross Brothers, Wardhead.

Young Bulls sold to 350ppk for a Limousin from M & C Cameron, Strone and to £2752 for the same beast from M & C Cameron, Strone, Fort William.

OTM’s averaged 235ppk selling to 320ppk for a British Blue from Ross Brothers, Wardhead and per head to £2170 for the same beast from Ross Brothers, Wardhead.

OTM Males sold to 252ppk for a Limousin from W & R Thomson, Cairnbog and per head to £2450 for the same beast from W & R Thomson, Cairnbog.

Diary Cows sold to 287ppk for a Friesian from W A Hume, Easter Clune and per head to £2100 for the same beast from W A Hume, Easter Clune.

Another cracking show of Store Lambs forward, with all classes meeting a great trade throughout.
