Due to the customer getting rat damage to their air-conditioning units

Which is extremely expensive to be repaired with an average down time of 2 weeks due to parts replacement. T

They called us in and a few other local companies to provide quotes and advice
On how to eradicate the problem and to ensure we keep all other none target wildlife free from any harm.

After winning the contract we decided to approach this by using AF ground boxes with none toxic rodent baits.

We want to ensure we are not targeting any mice or possibly squirrels. Even song birds can enter the boxes on the ground.

We then installed our wall mounted boxes which are designed to target rats as they have 2 tunnels at the bottom of our equipment for rats to climb up, this ensures no mice, squirrels or song birds can enter our system.

A rat would need to stand on its back legs to be able to climb up, due to the size of the tunnels this will ensure that squirrels and any other none target species are unable to get access to any traps or baits.

This will be checked weekly for the first 3 weeks, to give us all the required information on what wildlife is active around the area.

If we get low takes or instant kills over this period we can then reduce the amount of boxes to ensure we have the correct amount of traps required between visits.

The installation is for high activity to start the treatment, then this will be reduced accordingly.

The reason we are using none toxic blocks on the ground is because we want to ensure there is no wood mice activity.

Always think about the local wildlife before starting any treatments this is why we always start with an environmental risk assessment.

I agree the boxes do look a bit too large, but if this is what is required to do the job correctly then this is the route we take to ensure we are only going after the target pest, in this case its rats.

Called out to loud noises under floor boards under the 1st floor bedroom.

We thought we were going in to remove a rodent.

Heat cameras out to find what we were dealing with.

Floor boards removed in 2 areas of the house to give enough room to escape into the bedroom and stairway.

After removing the floor boards I could see a beautiful Jack door. She had been trapped for 4 days before the customer decided to give us a call.

She was scared and dehydrated, so we needed to come up with a way to get her to come out.

Brain wave was to play her some sounds of other Jack Doors singing.

This worked a treat, after 10 min she plucked up the courage to head towards the openings i had made for her.

On my return I found her sitting in the bedroom then she flew into a side bathroom.

I safely caught her in a towel, and gave her plenty of water which she was extremely grateful to receive.

I then took her outside to join her partner, which they both flew away into the distance.

A happy ending for everyone ❤️

Called out to a school in Manchester due to rats active around the bin area. Permission given to do a quick video. Discretion guaranteed.

All bins had caps no no rodents could gain access to the rubbish. On carrying out our survey we followed the rat rubs through an over grown area.

This led us to just one rat hole adjacent to a man hole.

On lifting up the manhole cover we found that bamboo shoots had damaged the frame under the flags, resulting in on huge climbing frame for the rats to burrow out from under the frame.

Weekly trapping is now in place, no poison is being used, drainage company is booked in and a bamboo specialist to remove all the bamboo from the area.

A good survey is the key to any job, after our Environmental risk assessment was carried out along with our other assessments it was safe to proceed with our plan of works to ensure speedy eradication.

Today we are setting up a new comercial contract in Cheadle Hulme, after carrying out our internal and external survey we found issues around the external perimeter.

A trapping treatment will now be in place for 7- 14 days to ensure all areas are free from any pest activity.

Proofing work has already been started for smaller rodent activity, due to 1 large hole found entering the cavity wall, we are unable to carry out any proofing to this area until we are satisfied that all areas are free from any activity in the internal walls.
