Why this matters now...
From 6 April 2026, major changes under Making Tax Digital (MTD) come into force. If you’re a sole trader or landlord earning over £50,000, you’ll be required to:
🔸 Keep digital financial record
🔸 Use HMRC‑recognised accounting software (like Xero)
🔸 Submit quarterly digital updates instead of relying only on an annual tax return

And from April 2027, the threshold drops to £30,000, bringing even more people into scope.
