This afternoon, we were pleased to celebrate National Healthcare Estates & Facilities Day with events held in our Rainbow Rooms at University Hospital of North Tees and University Hospital of Hartlepool. Colleagues were invited to join us for refreshments as we took the opportunity to recognise the essential contribution of our estates and facilities teams.
As Bradley Stokes, Facilities Service Lead, has expressed, our facilities teams are “the backbone of everything we do.” From portering and domestic services to driving, maintenance and leadership roles, each member of the team plays a vital part in ensuring our hospitals remain safe, clean and fully operational.
Management colleagues highlighted the dedication shown by those who “work tirelessly behind the scenes, often in challenging and fast‑paced environments,” and yet whose impact is visible throughout the organisation every day. The environments you create and maintain enable our clinical teams to deliver high‑quality care, and they directly influence patient experience, safety and wellbeing.
Today’s celebration allowed us to acknowledge not only the importance of these roles, but also the professionalism, teamwork and care demonstrated across the estates and facilities workforce. On behalf of the organisation, we extend our sincere thanks to every member of the estates and facilities teams.
