BUSINESS TRIP UPDATE 📋✈️

After an intensive strategy summit in Spain, we’re pleased to report that several key objectives were successfully achieved:

✅ Conducted extensive coastal workspace assessments
✅ Thoroughly tested local sangria suppliers for quality assurance
✅ Carried out in-depth paella research
✅ Held numerous discussions on work-life balance from beachfront locations
✅ Evaluated the organisational benefits of afternoon sunshine

The findings? A well-organised diary is important, but so is occasionally swapping your desk chair for a sun lounger. ☀️

We’re now back in the UK, refreshed, recharged and ready to tackle your to-do lists, inboxes, admin chaos and organisational challenges.

✨ 5 Things Teaching Taught Me About Organising ✨

Before becoming a professional organiser, I (Danielle🙋🏻‍♀️) spent 14 years as a primary school teacher and honestly, it was the ultimate training ground! 📚

Here are 5 organising lessons the classroom gave me that I now use every day:

1️⃣ A place for everything (and label it!)
From glue sticks to reading books, everything needed a home - and clear labels made it easy for everyone to find and return things independently.

2️⃣ Simple systems always win
If a system is too complicated, it won’t be used. The best systems are easy to follow, quick to maintain and make everyday life smoother.

3️⃣ Consistency is key
Daily routines keep everything running like clockwork. Whether it’s tidying up at the end of the day or resetting a space, small habits make a big difference.

4️⃣ Clutter = distraction
A calm, organised environment helps children focus and it’s exactly the same at home. Less clutter means more clarity and less stress.

5️⃣ Organisation should work for YOU
Every classroom (and every home!) is different. What works for one person won’t always work for another, so systems need to be tailored to your lifestyle.

Teaching taught me that organisation isn’t about perfection, it’s about creating spaces that feel calm, functional and easy to maintain 💛

From chaos to calm in just a couple of hours ✨

A project I actually remembered to take photos of!

This utility room was completely full, with cupboards packed to the brim and no usable surface space, making it feel overwhelming and difficult to use day to day.

I started by taking everything out of the cupboards so we had a blank canvas, then gave all the surfaces a good clean. Once everything was out, I sorted the items into categories so my client could clearly see what she had. From there, she was able to decide what to keep and what to donate with confidence.

Everything that stayed was then carefully organised back into the cupboards in a way that makes sense and works for her routine - and just look at the difference 🙌

The items no longer needed were donated to the food bank, where they’ll go on to support people who really need them 💚

A calm, functional space where everything has a home, and surfaces are finally clear again.

All done in just a couple of hours 💫

One of the most common questions we get asked is what happens to items once we’ve decluttered a space.

Where possible, we donate, reuse or recycle everything that is no longer wanted ♻️

We carefully sort through items and aim to find relevant charities that can make good use of them, helping people in the local community wherever possible. Items may also be passed on to trusted charity shops so they can continue to be useful rather than go to waste.
