One of our recent winners of the BNI Best 60 Seconds Trophy was ...... Mark Clelland of Milltech Training!!!

Jane Henderson awared the trophy to Mark because he came across that he genuinely cares about offering quality apprenticeship courses and is passionate about helping people get on the career ladder.

Education and learning are an on-going part of Mark's life and his courses are for all ages, experience and abilities and so diversity is also another factor as to why Jane chose Mark. Jane also added that she's not surprised that Milltech won their training Award and that it's well deserved.

Great job Mark - this was so deserved!!

Member Feature: Emily Snowdon | MCM Advice Ltd

We recently enjoyed a fabulous member presentation by Emily Snowdon who is a Mortgage and Protection Advisor at MCM Advice Ltd. MCM provide mortgage advice not only to the local area but across the country.

I love MCM’s slogan of ‘proper, honest mortgage advice’, which Emily elaborated on further, explaining that unlike banks, MCM have no conflict of interest, as they work for their clients and not the banks. Emily put it perfectly when she said that ‘she’s on her client’s team from the day they decide they need a mortgage until the day they decide to pay it off’.

Emily has an incredible professional history, with almost 30 years experience working with mortgages; however, it’s being able to give the personal touch that makes Emily happy and being able to utilise her full expertise to give her clients access to a vast array of lenders.

Emily has quite a following of extremely happy customers, whose lives have been touched by her expertise and determination to get the results that her clients need - she’s relentless in making things happen! Congratulations and a huge well done to Caitlin Watson of Didasko Maths for being chosen as our Notable Networker for the month of September!!

Caitlin just never stops trying her absolute best for our networking group and its members. From helping to run a smooth meeting as the Vice President, coming up with initiatives to help engagement so members get the most from their membership, to always being on hand to help her fellow members with any issues or questions they may have – she truly is always giving.

All of the above are in addition to her consistent personal performance within the group, where she’s actively meeting her fellow members to understand how to help them grow their business, as well as using the vast array of learning tools provided by BNI to get the most out of her membership and strengthen her own business knowledge.

Atusa loved Jordan’s presentation because he described how he dropped everything to come to the rescue of one of his clients and he was clear about how he helps his customers. Fabulous customer service Jordan!!

Good morning everyone I’m Jordan and I run Able Tree Services’ skilled team of professional arborists.

Tuesday morning this week a customer rang in regards to a large tree that had fallen during the night blocking their driveway. I rearranged jobs and arrived for 7am and had the driveway clear by 9am, leaving this customer very impressed and happy with our response time.

We offer a 24/7 emergency call out service to all of our customers.

The majority of my work is residential so keep an eye out at your friends, family or even neighbours’ houses for any over grown or dangerous trees and hedges.

I’m happy to provide free advice and quotation where necessary.

An introduction to Mike Hughes general manager at Durham University Botanic Gardens would be great.

Special Announcement

Flame are celebrating our first birthday 🥳

From humble beginnings with just 3 members beginning as a core group back in January 2019, we now have a thriving networking group, with 26 members, who have passed a whopping £298,000 worth of business to each other.

As well as the amazing financial gains that each business has enjoyed, we have also supported each other through the highs and lows of business.

This is still only the beginning for Flame though, as we go from strength to strength with more members joining us and more business being passed, more knowledge being shared and more friendships being made. The future really does look bright.

During our weekly networking meetings we have a ten minute slot for one of our members to present their business to the rest of the group so that we can better understand what they offer and how they solve their client’s problems, which in turn helps us to find them business.

Stephen Dixon recently presented his business 313 Financial to the group. His role within the business is the Protection Advisor, although 313 Financial offer a full suite of financial planning services including the writing of wills and trust.

The latest winner of the BNI Flame Virtual Trophy is MOI!! Yours truly – Allison from Hello Friday was chosen by Graeme Foreman of GF International solutions as the winner of the best 60 seconds during our last meeting.

Graeme says that he chose me, as my presentation was based on systems and processes and that he liked it because his brain doesn’t think in that way at all. Now I get to share it with the world!! Please see below for a peak at my winning script: -
