The Health & Safety Executive (HSE) has confirmed that the new Fee For Intervention (FFI) rates commenced from the 1st April 2026 but do not apply retrospectively to interventions that span the implementation date.

The updated charges apply to all of the HSE’s main cost recovery regimes and, the hourly rate for (FFI) has increased from £183 to £188.

Ensuring that you provide a safe workplace reduces the risk of having the FFI served on you so endeavour to do everything you can to protect your employees, visitors and other third-party stakeholders.

There are some other adjustments which include the below if they are applicable to your business activities.

1. COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards): £212 to £218
2. Offshore safety: £322 to £332
3. Gas Safety (Management) Regulations 1996: £173 to £178
4. Oil, gas and chemical pipelines: £173 to £178
5. Onshore oil, gas and geothermal operations: £204 to £210
6. Wind and marine energy (renewables): £246 to £253
7. Explosives regulation: £145 to £149
8. Ionising radiation consents: £227 to £234
9. Carriage of dangerous goods: £75 to £77

Skills Required

Requirements Candidates will have some experience delivering practical health and safety solutions either as an in-house H&S Advisor or as a consultant.

- Member of IOSH or equivalent as a minimum in H&S.
- Have a good understanding of the duties under CDM2015 and able to advise clients.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communications skills and be confident in giving presentations in a client facing environment.
- Must be literate in everyday IT packages such as Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook.
- Be energetic, self-motivated, and self-reliant.
- Be confident in working on their own initiative and delivering to tight deadlines.
- Be prepared to travel throughout the UK on a regular basis and have a full driving license (with no more than 3 points).
- Must have access to a suitable car for business use for which a fuel allowance is provided. Following successful trial period a car allowance will be provided.

Job Objectives

On a day-to-day basis the successful candidates will undertake a range of duties which will depend on their level of qualifications and experience, but generally may include:

- Providing our diverse range of clients with high level H&S consultancy services and associated reporting, presentations, and management information
- Advice and support to clients on up-to-date regulations associated to their industry as well as general health and safety.
- You will need to have good knowledge of the CDM regulations to be able to support and advise all Duty Holders in their duties
- Delivery of CDM co-ordination services and other CDM / H&S related projects
- Delivery of health and safety training and workshops/awareness sessions to Clients.
- Undertaking H&S audits of the Client's including evidence of successful implementation
- Managing with the initial set up of a bespoke safety management system from implementation to supporting the client with ongoing updates for each of your clients
- Provide training presentations to clients on various topics.
