It’s been a very Stoke on Trent College focussed couple of days for us at the BID.
Yesterday we were delighted to attend the celebratory Skills Pledge Partner evening to commit to further supporting the college in sharing skills, knowledge and opportunity.

Tonight, we are proud Headline Sponsor of the Adult Learner of the Year category at the Celebrating Success Awards.

We’re thrilled to have such a rich relationship with the college and look forward to celebrating the resilience, talent and of course success of young people in our city.

Can you spare any time to improve the city centre environment next week? 🧹🚯

The amazing team at VAST are hosting a volunteer event to clean and brighten up the areas on and surrounding Hope Street to celebrate Volunteers Week.

Taking place from 10am – 4pm on Wednesday 3rd and Thursday 4th June, volunteers from across the community and beyond are invited to drop in at 10am, 12pm and 2pm for volunteer briefings to get sorted with a task and appropriate equipment.

Plus, there'll be arts and craft, gardening and wildlife friendly activities, so there's something for everyone!

No need to register, simply pop down to The Dudson Centre for your volunteer briefings. See you there! 🌻

Ay Up Town, here's some news for your Monday! 🙌

As part of a £430,000 in grant funding, our city has received support from the Ministry of Defence to go towards our most beloved Armed Forces Day event 🪖✨

This means that we can continue to bring the public together with serving Armed Forces personnel, veterans, reservists and cadets - making it bigger and better for years to come 🥳

More than 230 Armed Forces Day events will take place right across the United Kingdom this summer and we cannot wait for our City Centre to join in the celebrations on the 4th July for this very special occasion.

The city centre has been named as one of the UK's best pub towns according to The Telegraph's travel expert!

The Coachmakers Arms - Hanley on Lichfield Street has received a special mention in the article along with The Golden Cup Inn, having been cited as a key player in putting Hanley on the pub town list.

"All of Stoke’s six towns have decent pubs, but perhaps the best is Hanley, the most central...." "...the Coachmakers Arms, with its cosy lounge, tiny snug and central passageway" has helped pop the city centre in this article... cheers to that! 🍻

Did you know that The Potteries Museum & Art Gallery is in the next exciting stage of its multi-million-pound transformation?
The improvements have made possible through a successful bid by Stoke-on-Trent City Council for £5m Arts Council England (ACE) and DCMS Cultural Development Fund. Whilst parts of the site are temporarily inaccessible during this time, the team are still running a full programme of events and activities taking place in its theatre, including its popular Friday Twilight series, the Cult Film Club and special celebrations.

Explore the transformation project and events at PMAG👇 https://www.stokemuseums.org.uk/pmag/visit/

Please note that access to the museum will be via the café entrance by the Spitfire Gallery for the forseeable.
