A client was recently somewhat taken aback when Wayne said he wasn't Chartered ...

The reason why not? One of those 'I'll get round to it' things that get pushed to the side whilst the day to day business happens.

So, in the spirit of OHIO, he did a thing, and applied.

We're delighted to say that he is now officially Chartered which is fantastic external recognition for many years of hard work and experience.

It's not gone to his head, however. There seems to be no Chartered standard covering childish behaviour around bubblegum portraits!

What a quote. And what a woman.

Dolly Parton has always represented something bigger than fame, music or success. She embodied kindness, humility, generosity, resilience, and the ability to stay true to yourself while lifting others up along the way.

One of my philosophies I try to live by is:

LIVE: LAUGH: LOVE: LEAVE A LEGACY.

Few people have demonstrated this more powerfully than Dolly. Her impact stretches far and wide, through her philanthropy, authenticity and unwavering belief in people.

Success is measured in so many ways, but a life that leaves the world a little better than it found it is surely the greatest achievement of all.

W**e, cheese… and ISO standards? 🍷🧀

It might not be the most obvious pairing, but in honour of International W**e and Cheese Day, here’s a fun reminder that ISO standards pop up in more places than you might expect.

From the classic wine-tasting glass used to assess colour, aroma and flavour consistently, to testing cheese for things like fat, salt, moisture and protein content, standards quietly help keep quality and consistency on the menu.

So while ISO may be better known for quality, information security and environmental management, it also has a role in the everyday experiences we enjoy, even the ones best served with crackers.

Standards might not be the first thing that comes to mind when you pour a glass or build a cheeseboard, but they’re often working away in the background: useful, reliable and never trying to steal the spotlight.

Cheers to good taste, great quality and the standards that help support both. 🥂

Anyone who knows us will know that Wayne is never usually short of something to say, so when we were invited onto business coach Doug D'Aubrey's podcast we thought we'd give it a go!

It was our first time doing anything like this, but we really enjoyed chatting with Doug and sharing a bit about who we are, what we do and how we help businesses.

Today’s dose of work-life balance comes in the form of sausages!

Yesterday, I spent an evening at Perrys Field to Fork learning how to make sausages, as you do.

Great fun, lots to learn and a wonderful atmosphere. I enjoyed’ being in the now’ and taking an evening off to learn something new.

It’s sausages for tea for a while in the Pearce household!

What do Penguins and ISO9001 have in common?

Through our business systems, behaviour and continual improvement, ISO9001 is all about quality. Penguins are an exemplar of this:
- Penguins follow standardised behaviours for feeding, nesting, mating and migration.
- Penguins survive the cold using controlled group processes in the form of a huddling rotation system.
- Penguins have clearly defined roles, responsibilities and accountability: while one parent hunts, the other incubates.
- Penguins identify risks and adopt processes accordingly to ensure they are fed, protected and survive those cold conditions.

Their survival and success relies on everyone doing their part in the right place at the right time. That sounds like ISO to me!

Hey, it might be tenuous, but it’s World Penguin Day, so why not?

Like ISO9001, penguins have strong systems, know consistency beats chaos and understand that survival depends on continual improvement.

Happy World Penguin Day! 🐧
