Having committed to getting better, on social media, on the 5-day challenge with Anna Geary and Anita Baldwin Marketing - more customers, higher value, simple marketing my challenge today is to write something about myself, not something I am particularly comfortable with, so here goes…
I have lived in Leicestershire all my life and love living in a village. A year ago, having looked at my work/life balance, I made the decision to work for myself providing secretarial and administrative support to small businesses, transferring all the skills I have gained over the last 40 years working as a legal secretary, particularly confidentiality and attention to detail.
What I love about my career choice, is that I now have so much variety. I have been able to help a local builder with data entry/reconciliation and general administration and was approached to write Christmas cards and birthday cards for an advisor, freeing up her valuable time to continue building her business. I believe handwritten Christmas and birthday cards are much nicer to receive than the formal printed cards, adding a personal touch for clients.
I now have more flexibility in my life enabling me to rediscover my love of gardening (removing five conifers from our garden this summer, which were long over-due for removal). I also enjoy walking and baking and believe me when you live in a village there is always a need for cakes to be made for one event or another!
I also enjoy watching rugby and cricket, which is just as well as my husband is very fond of his sport programmes, and particularly enjoyed watching Leicester City win 9-0 at the weekend, together with the gripping game of Rugby when England beat the All Blacks! Well done to both teams!
