6 months later, and January is finally done 👀🫶

I will be honest, I know people hate Jan but I actually quite enjoyed it. It was all about slow days, loads of frosty walks, yummy food and easing myself back into work.

No crazy “new year resolutions” or expectations for me.

February will be a little more fast paced with some goals set and a bit more work planned but still nothing crazy ☺️

What a time to be a business or content creator trying to grow your biz on Instagram 🤣

A lot of changes 😅 some I’m happy about and some I’m hoping never actually happen (let’s keep the highlights as they are pls)

Another one I didn’t mention above is a new video editing app called Edits (coming next month). A bit like CapCut I presume but made my Meta 🤔

Breaking up the sea of motivational posts with a little dose of my December highlights 🫶 Am I too late to post this? Oh who cares ? 🤣

Physically, I’m wrapped in a blanket (hello -2C weather!! 🥶) ticking things off my to-do list and working on client content. Mentally? Still enjoying all the yummy food, endless walks and Christmas movies 😅

I have to be honest, I’ve struggled to be back at work this week, my motivation & focus was LOW 🙃

And all the motivational content flying around has been a little overwhelming. Everyone seems so “on it” and “busy,” and I’m just here like 🫠

If you had a productive week, smashed your to-do list, and hit your goals, GO YOU ! 👏👏 I’m proud of you! Keep going 💪

But if your week wasn’t as productive and you took things a bit slower, that’s okay too!

Remember, you don’t have to have it all figured out by the second week of January ❤️

I’ve never been one to obsess over hashtags strategies for myself or my clients 😅

Don’t get me wrong, hashtags STILL have their place for SEO, search, and discovery But let’s be real, they’re not as important as they used to be (and I’m secretly glad about it 👀)

So, here’s my advice:

✅ Keep using them, especially location and industry specific ones.

❌ Don’t overthink it. There’s no magic number or perfect hashtag list.

Focus on what really matters 👇

✨Creating high-quality content that speaks to your audience ✨

Late to the trend but who cares? 🤷‍♀️

To keep it real, even though it’s the best job in the world, its NOT always easy 😅

Working with small purpose-driven businesses and non-profits often means working with low-budget and high expectations! But that’s never stopped me 👀

It just means I have to get creative and think outside of the box 📦 But that’s okay, as I like to put it, I’m scrappy and quite good at creating impactful context with not a lot of resources!

Not don’t get me wrong, you can’t create good content out of nothing, and need to be realistic with your expectations ❌

But what I’m trying to say is that don’t need HUGEEE budgets to make an impact. You can start small and invest more as you grow 👏

Best practices & how to make your carousels better and reach more people 👆🏼

In my opinion, carousels we’re never gone 😅

There are loads of brands and creators who’ve always seen the best results from carousels 🤷🏻‍♀️

But it’s nice to hear it from Mr Instagram himself that the algorithm doesn’t actually prioritise reels and video content 😅

My best advice is to post a mixture of reels and carousels and see what works best for your audience, and also what you enjoy creating.

There’s an art to creating engaging carousels and like everything, practice makes perfect! 🫶

I took 4 months off my socials and this is what happened.

✨I recharged✨

Full transparency, business was slower than usual because I wasn’t posting and shouting from the rooftop about my services. But sometimes that’s fine. Not every season is about growing your business.

Sometimes it’s about putting yourself first 🧡

Anyway, I’m currently in Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 on yet another holiday 👀(final one of the year haha!) but while I’m off and getting ready to start posting my usual content, thought I’d post a part 2 to “What I’ve been up to” in the few months I was “offline”.

Spoiler: I had a blast 🫶

I'm off on holiday for the next two weeks ✈️ and after that I'll be working on a little rebrand 👀 and working on finishing my new website....

Soooo basically I'll be out of office until 17th June! (Well KINDA...I'll still be doing client work and loads of behind the scenes work but just won't be posting on here😅)

I've started Earth Kynd Socials almost 3 and a half years and since then I've had a few minor rebrands but I'm planning for this one to be quite a major one! This branding doesn't feel aligned with my business anymore and creating content doesn't spark joy like it used to so it's time for a change.

Plus A LOT has changed behind the scenes in both my business and personal life. So it's only fair my branding reflects that!!

Saying that, I'll still be around on stories and DMs 👋

I took some time to update my story highlights this week and ended up taking a trip down memory lane looking at past client results!

So yes these are screenshots of past stories (hence the mismatched branding 😂).

I HAD to share on the main feed as well as I'm so proud of my work and all the amazing results I achieved for my clients over the past 3 years!

Yes, those might just look like some green analytics to you, but behind the scenes, there are hours of strategising, researching, brainstorming content ideas, creating graphics, editing videos, scripting, and all the other nitty-gritty tasks to make sure every piece of content I post serves a purpose and hits my client's goals. 🙌

I pride myself on always putting 100% into every piece of content I create for my clients 👩🏻‍💻- I'm a bit of a perfectionist (cliche I know, but it's VERY true 🤷🏻‍♀️) which reflects in my quality of work. ⁠

My goal for this year was to spend less time on my phone. Especially in the evenings after I've done all my work. And I'm already failing 😂

January was pretty good and I actually stuck with it. Even set up those time limits on my phone so it won't let me access any social media apps after a certain time. And I actually noticed such an improvement on my mental health!

February however... I went back to my old habits! 😅

But...it's never too late to get back on track! So this reminder is for me as much as it is for you!

Instead of letting the bad habits creep back, I'm nipping in the butt and from tomorrow (as I'm currently writing this post at 9pm 😂) I'm back to no social media after 8pm.
