Few gemstones are as closely associated with their place of origin as a Kashmir sapphire.
Discovered following a landslide in the Zanskar Range of the Himalayas in 1882, these legendary gemstones were mined in significant quantities for only a few short years. Fine rutile inclusions, known as silk, scatter light within the stone, creating the velvety cornflower-blue hue and subtle violet undertones so prized in the finest examples.
Today, their extraordinary colour, exceptional rarity and extraordinary provenance make every fine Kashmir sapphire a treasured piece of natural history.
