Where has 2022 gone I hear everyone say?!

I have not updated this page for a little while (a dismally low reach on FB pages has been a factor in this) so I wanted to quickly check-in to provide an update on some exciting developments that have been happening with my business this year!

Over the summer I found the time to complete my personal performance coaching diploma client journal and final thesis paper receiving a distinction for these and launched my new personal coaching brand 🥁... Jo Hennessy Coaching 🎉. This was for a variety of reasons, including to better connect with some of the individuals I work with.

I intend to continue to support small and mission-led businesses via Lighthouse Business -> with a focus on supporting small and mission-led business leadership with enhancing business performance and assessing the changes required for better employee retention. As a certified performance coach, ex-Big 4 consultant, and experienced business analyst I can support you in a number of ways as you seek to drive positive change in your business. Happy new year fabulous people! 💫

How many of you are making new year resolutions today? How challenging are these?

I used to make NY resolutions consistently in the past (to variable success rates!) before i heard about the 1% better everyday approach. It is also linked to the origins of Kaizen a japenese system for gradual business improvement (which i use a lot in my coaching practices to embed consistent change). By focusing on the outcome we want to acheive and working out the behaviours we need to change to achieve this, and then taking tiny steps each day, this works by gradually reprogramming our brain's neural pathways and has immense long term success rates! It's an effective use of our energy to align with our natural ability to change, rather than relying on willpower alone, which is susceptible to failing us at the first significant hurdle along the way.

My 1% better everyday goal is regarding sharing my coaching message and services to a wider audience. Something i decided to cut back on during the pandemic due to re-prioritising efforts into skills & programme development, and had a limited capacity for additional client work at the time.

Do you sometimes get to the end of the day and wonder where all your time for business building has evaporated away too?

I get it.

As a busy small business owner, you have so many ideas yet with so many hats to wear and on-going demands from clients, employees or outside responsibilities, it is so hard to make traction on the business initiatives you feel most passionate about?

You would like to see yourself as an example of high productivity, however you find yourself faced with a never-ending to-do list, and often working into the small hours... with the great work-life balance you set out for now seeming a distant dream.

But it doesn’t have to be that way… coaching is a fantastic way to increase your clarity and personal productivity. In just one hour (or less) you can get really clear on where you want to take your business, set priorities and break these down into clear milestones and realistic and achievable action plans. By really considering what is important to you, how you will organise your time, and be held accountable to this you can really super-charge your success.

Say good-bye to restless nights as your mind mulls over and over your fabulous ideas, yet then lacks the energy the next day to put anything into action.

I understand when you are pushed for time already it can seem hard to fit in an additional commitment, yet session times are negotiable to fit around what works for you, and feedback from recent clients say this is well worth the investment when compared to the change in mindset, motivation, and results they realise in such a short space of time.

Happy International Women's Day 2021

This past year has given us some truly inspirational women leaders to celebrate. Perhaps top of the list is Jacinda Ardern, NZ PM for her amazing engagement with her people and sensitive handling of the covid crisis in NZ. Also we should celebrate the amazing women working tirelessly for the NHS this past year who make up 77% of workforce.
