Each month at SBN we spotlight one of our members. This month it was Tanya de Leersnyder who as you can see encouraged us all to stand in the yoga "Tree Pose". In fact she got us to do all kinds of interesting poses with various pieces of yoga equipment to help. Tanya is an expert teacher and skilful practitioner of Iyengar Yoga and - obviously - the best way to explain it was to show us what to do!
It was a fascinating session as we discovered Tanya's first career was as a computer programmer with yoga as a hobby she loved. We also found out she did a psychology degree and decided to make yoga her career once she and her husband arrived here from South Africa.
Tanya was also Chair of SBN for many years and is definitely an inspirational person: the current committee are very grateful for her generous support.

At our meeting we held a speed networking session this month and have some new forms to help keep track of those all important connections. All networking sales, referrals, partnerships (and friendships!) start with a conversation - and we hope this form will provide some clarity on action taken.

Having conversations is the enjoyable way to business growth! Come to our regular Networking event at Minchinhampton Golf Club on Thursday 28th May and enjoy some conversations. We will be doing Speed Networking which is great fun and can take away any doubts you might have about networking!

It will be a packed networking meeting on 30th – the very last day of April! Our speaker who runs Core and Co studio in Nailsworth is offering a free pilates class. So bring your business cards and you might be the lucky winner! Matilda will tell us about her experience spotting a gap in the market and creating a studio space from an old building for women to feel supported and motivated.

It is inspiring to hear how other women develop their business and we usually take away some relevant ideas for our own businesses.
It is also our official AGM which is very brief but a legal requirement for SBN. Plus we have the opportunity to meet and network with local businesswomen and enjoy a good conversation.

9.30 – 11.00 at Minchinhampton Golf Club where the parking is easy. Guests are welcome. More information at https://stroudbusinesswomen.org.uk

Join us for our regular drop in coffee catch up! It's April and the weather has been wonderful for the last few days!
No booking needed - just bring yourself and come upstairs in the Curio lounge. You can order coffee (or drink of your choice) at the bar, or through the magical QR on menus when you reach us.
If you are a businesswoman who can get to Stroud there's no better place to be on Thursday morning before 11 o.clock..

We had 2 fascinating speakers at our networking meeting last week. Su Chard told us about all the work that The Fig Tree does gor the community in Stonehouse. We met the dinosaur who helps with toddler groups and heard how different groups meet there every day of the week. It seems extremely busy - and also includes a quiet group - to cater for all preferences. They have an extensive range of cards for sale and Sue encouraged us to have a look, especially as card sales contribute to fundraising.

Each meeting we also hear from a member who explains their business. Helen Wood spoke about her lovely property in Wales that can be booked for retreats or private holidays. She showed us the picture she created entirely from stamps!

Our next get together is the dropin coffee at the Curio Lounge in Stroud on the second Thursday in April. 9.30 - 11.00. Join us! .
