It was fantastic to see our Social Value Lead, April representing DPL Group yesterday at the Build Your Future hosted by Eastern Education Group.

With more than 200 aspiring apprentices and job seekers attending, the event created an invaluable opportunity to connect people with employers and showcase the many routes into the construction industry.

During the panel discussion, April and Clare from TMJ Interiors explored what it means to be job ready, the different pathways into construction and the latest Government announcements on technical education.

Speaking about Andy Burnham's recent support for greater investment in technical pathways, April said:

"We welcome the continued investment in technical pathways that help young people become work ready and build successful careers in construction. At DPL Group, strengthening partnerships between education and industry is central to our social value commitment, creating clear pathways into employment for the next generation."

Our 2026 education programme continues to build meaningful partnerships across schools, colleges and industry, helping to inspire the next generation of construction professionals and ensuring the sector has the skilled workforce it needs for the future.

A huge thank you to the organisers for bringing together 24 businesses to support such an important event. We're proud to have played a part and look forward to continuing these conversations.

We were delighted to welcome Andy from WorldSkills and Jamie to TMJ. Jamie has travelled from Northern Ireland and is preparing to represent the UK in Joinery at WorldSkills Shanghai.

Jamie spent time with our apprentices, giving them a valuable opportunity to see the incredible standard of workmanship required to compete on the world stage and learn some of his specialist techniques. He also had the chance to put his skills to the test in an unfamiliar workshop under the pressure of an audience. Thankfully for him, it wasn't quite half a million spectators, just our four apprentices watching closely!

Our apprentices also got the chance to talk to Andy, the UK lead of WorldSkills joinery. A great opportunity for them to ask insightful questions.

A fantastic week of work experience at TMJ Interiors!

We were delighted to welcome Tom and Joshua, who spent the week gaining hands-on experience across veneering, machining, CNC, design, stores, and the spray shop.

The highlight of their week was creating their own table, giving them a real insight into the craftsmanship, teamwork, and skills that go into every project we deliver.

We're proud to have helped transform Peterborough Court - the iconic former home of The Daily Telegraph and Goldman Sachs' European headquarters.

Through expert craftsmanship, close collaboration and innovative problem-solving, TMJ delivered stunning European Oak veneer panelling, anodised metal finishes and a complex staircase package that enhances this Grade II Listed Art Deco building while respecting its rich heritage.

The Long Gallery is now a beautifully refined, hospitality-led space that brings new life to one of Fleet Street's most historic buildings.

Thank you for 50 years of commitment, Andrew! ✨

In our team recreation post last week, we mentioned Andrew’s 45 years with TMJ, but we couldn’t let this pass without recognising an even bigger milestone.

This month marks an incredible 50 years that Andrew (or Henry, as we all know him) has spent working alongside our Chairman, James Taylor.

Half a century of dedication, expertise and commitment - something truly worth highlighting as we celebrate our own 45th anniversary.

This throwback to the 90s, outside 10 Downing Street after completing the refurbishment project, captures just a small part of that journey.
