Managing people requires a completely different skill set. From handling difficult conversations and managing performance to motivating teams and creating positive workplace cultures, it’s a role that comes with real responsibility.

That’s why we’ve created the Oculus HR Leadership Academy.

Designed around real workplace situations and practical learning, the Academy will help managers develop the confidence, capability and skills they need to lead effectively.

Recent figures show that almost 150 million working days were lost to sickness or injury last year, with stress, anxiety, and mental health concerns continuing to be a significant driver.
 
In fact, almost a third of employers report mental health as a leading cause of absence.
 
But many people experiencing stress won’t openly say they’re struggling. They continue showing up, often quietly overwhelmed.

A brilliant day at the Entrepreneurs’ Forum Annual Conference yesterday at Ramside Hall 💙

A great mix of honest founder stories, practical insights and conversations around growth, leadership and wellbeing.

The wellbeing theme came through strongly throughout the day - from how we lead and support our teams, to creating environments where people can do their best work.

It was also great to hear from such a strong lineup of speakers, including Kim McGuinness and Justine Roberts, and to spend time catching up with businesses across the region, all navigating similar challenges and opportunities.

And a special mention to our new banner making its debut 👏

More than anything, it was a reminder of the strength of the North East business community and the support that comes from being part of it.

A big thank you to Elaine Stroud and the team for another brilliantly run event 👏
