Many people feel that cities have lost some of their color and personality.
One reason is that, for decades, modern architecture has prioritized materials like concrete, glass, and steel, along with a color palette dominated by whites, grays, and blacks.
This style spread across much of the world because of its practicality, ease of construction, and ability to adapt to different environments.
Functionality gradually became a central focus of urban design.
IL The rapid growth of cities also encouraged more efficient and standardized construction, where factors such as cost, time, and maximizing available space played an increasingly important role.
In recent years, however, a new trend has emerged—one that seeks to reconnect architecture with nature and restore the unique identity of each place. More greenery, natural materials, open spaces, and colorful façades are beginning to make their way back into our urban landscapes.
Architecture doesn’t just shape buildings-it also influences how we live, how we feel, and how we connect with the world around us.
Finding the right balance between functionality, beauty, and well-being will be one of the greatest challenges for the cities of the future.
